Lip Balm with SPF// Monogrammed Bag (I think there is *one* left!)
I am diligent about sun protection but especially in the summer months when I spend more time outdoors. I have tried and use a lot of different sunscreen brands. I was packing up for a tropical trip and thought I would share some of the sunscreens that I am bringing with me that are worth highlighting!
Many of these are available at a bunch of different retailers but I'll link to Dermstore where I can since my code SUMMERWIND gives you a discount on some of these! I work with Dermstore but this is not a sponsored post!
Body Oil Sunscreen SPF 50// I discovered this last year and it's the best. It feels like a gel/oil hybrid and glides onto my skin so easily. I love the way it makes my skin look- so hydrated and dewy. This has SPF 50 which is great. I find that chlorine dries out my skin and the spray sunscreens don't do anything to help the issue so using this is always great to keep my skin moisturized! This is not something I'd use on my face! If you prefer mineral sunscreen, I have and love this. It spreads easily and does not have a whitecast.
Supergoop Stick// This stick is the most 'unsexy' product of the bunch. I use this diligently. It's 100% mineral sunscreen and it is white. You can rub it in well and it doesn't leave an awful white cast, but you can kind of see it. I only use this on my nose. My nose burns horribly and so I keep this stick by any door in our house so I can quickly apply this on my nose. It's the only thing I have found that truly keeps my nose from burning. This doesn't really sit well under makeup so this is a post-makeup application when I don't care about my makeup looking perfect (so like on walks with no makeup, lounging by the pool, gardening with a hat on, etc). This coupled with a hat is my best bet! This is SPF 50 and I love that it is in a stick form because this makes it easy to travel with!
Sun Bum Hair Oil// Besides drying my skin out, chlorine is awful to my hair. It can also turn blonde hair green. I love using this hair oil after my hair is wet as it can protect it from chlorine but it also acts as a moisturizer. I don't often get my hair wet, but when I do, this keeps my hair from drying in a crazy frizzy situation as I sit by the pool/beach/etc.
Tortoise Wide Tooth Comb// This is the best comb! It's perfectly flat so it fits in any handbag and it's so good for brushing through wet beach hair!
Tortoise Mini Claw Clip// I love these for keep my hair half up and pulled out of my face. You can clip this ultra low right below a hat brim and because it's small it's practically undetectable!
Hair Tie// I use these always! The bonus about these around water is that they dry immediately. You know how you have a wet hair tie and you pull your hair back and your hair dries but the tie stays wet? This won't do that.
Glow Stick// This is another favorite stick that is SPF 50. It's another I keep by the doors in my home for quick and easy application. This is not for under makeup as it's too dewy but without makeup, it gives me the prettiest glow and is so hydrating. It's a dry oil so it's not like super slick and it does dry some, but I can't imagine anyone liking this under their makeup. This is great for travel since it is a solid!
Obagi Physical// This is a mineral sunscreen but it is tinted so you don't get that white cast. I love it for my face but I also love it for my chest as that's another place where I tend to burn. I find mineral sunscreen works best for me in the spots where I am more sensitive. This is expensive, but I really like it on my chest, another spot where I sometimes burn. You might not guess this, but I actually have olive undertones in my skin. I get that from my mom, so I really don't burn as much as one might think, thankfully, but I do think this sunscreen makes a huge difference. I'd honestly use it on my whole body if it was not so expensive! This is reef-safe so you can feel good about using it in the ocean!
Lip Balm with SPF// This is just a simple drugstore lip balm with SPF 15. It has a great texture and I think it works just as you'd expect. I buy a bunch and leave them in beach/pool totes so I always have one. My husband likes this, too. I also love their tinted lip balms (especially the cherry one) but they do not have SPF in them.
