It has been a busy week, and the weekend definitely bled into the week. On Sunday, we celebrated Father's Day with my dad which was fun. We just went to our club, sat by the pool because it was so hot, and then went to dinner. On Monday, we went to the Little Feat concert. It's a band I have loved since I was little, and it was so much fun. On Tuesday, my husband's family visited, and we went to dinner and Topgolf. I am ready to get myself back into a regular weekly routine.
This week has been SO hot, as I am sure many of you have similar weather. I am already over it. I loathe it. I can't wait until fall, hah!! But really, getting dressed in this kind of weather is miserable. I haven't been putting much effort into my outfits and instead just wear whatever is the lightest and flowiest.
Thank you all so much for your feedback/messages about Henry! He seems to be totally fine now. We took him to the vet, and thankfully, he is OK- his blood even came back normal, so the vet thinks he must have just eaten something he shouldn't have. Shocker. Anyway, I ended up ordering him a muzzle, and he doesn't seem to love it (no surprise, there), but he tolerates it, and it is keeping him from eating stuff on walks, so I've just started keeping it clipped onto his leash, and if I feel like he needs it, I put it on him. It's especially helpful in the dark. We have so many toads around our neighborhood, and they especially come out onto the sidewalks after it rains (I can't stand it! I do not like the toads or any creatures at night- it gives me goosebumps!!!). So, at night, we can't really see them, but Henry darts for them. The muzzle keeps him safe and gives us such peace of mind, and the vet put her stamp of approval on it, which made me feel good.
Linen Dress (under $100, 5 color options)
Eating: I snagged these Amylu Roasted Garlic Asiago chicken sausages at Whole Foods last week. I had never tried them before, but they sounded good and were delicious! I am definitely going to repurchase. They made for such an easy dinner.
Drinking: We cranked up the air conditioner and opened a bottle of Angeli this weekend. It's one of my favorites and under $50.
Sale: Tory Burch is having their extra 25% off sale! I sifted through the sale and pulled the things I thought were the best buys, here.
Watching: I haven't see a movie in a theater in ages but I really want to see the new Inside Out movie. It seems to get good reviews and I loved the first one- it was adorable and well done!
Listening: My young cousins introduced me to Chappell Roan which is apparently all the 'kids' are listening to these days, ha! Anyway, I like her- she sounds very 80s in a fun way. Pink Pony Club is my favorite. I used to be so up on all the latest music but I really haven't loved much of the pop music in the past several years.
Loving: This is the best hair clip I have ever used. It makes riding in a car, laying on a lounge chair, reading in bed, etc. SO much more comfortable because the clip doesn't dig into my head! It's also cute and easy to use. I just wish they would make an XL so I could wear my hair fully up without having to twist it a bunch.
Loving II: This set of two leather magnetic cord keepers will definitely be making the June favorites list. They are so much easier/better than the velcro or snap holders you can get on Amazon. They are also pretty! I'm keeping these in my back pocket for stocking stuffers for the holiday season! You can use code SUMMERWIND for 20% off!
Wanting: Love this classic striped sweater. The Lilly Pulitzer new arrivals are good! I really like this green lace dress, which surprises me as it is not a color or style I am typically drawn to. This orange dress is so fun. I just added this black ribbed athletic jacket to my cart. It is a great price on sale and a classic wardrobe staple. A pretty eyelet skirt just $30! Perfect paper cocktail napkins for the 4th of July! A set of 3 kitchen towels for $8, and they're adorable! Love the brown print on this dress. This tank lined with pearls is a fun take on a wardrobe staple. These are fun earrings! Just ordered these white shorts. This bag is incredible! Cute, classic, neutral designer ballet flats on major sale.
Pittsburgh: I have quite a few Pittsburgh notes so I'm going to bullet point them...
- I finally went to Alta Via Pizza in Bakery Square. I'd had the pizza before but only ask takeout. It was so delicious, and even the margaritas were good, which is kind of a random drink order for a pizza spot, but delish.
- We tried the Novo Asian food hall in the terminal building in the strip. This is exactly the type of place my dreams are made of because I love Asian food. Overall, I thought the food was good, but I had really high expectations, and it sort of fell flat for me. I'll definitely go back to try more food vendors and I loved the Mola salmon and avocado roll!
- Speaking of Asian food, we went to Jade Grille for Father's Day dinner, and they definitely have the best lo mein in the city. All of their noodles are made from scratch in-house. Jade Grille is the only place I have ever had a good Lychee martini. Has anyone else in Pittsburgh gotten a good one at any other restaurants? Every other one I have tried is sickly sweet and syrupy!
- If you love a good Italian rainbow cookie, Dianoias is the place. I just got some there this weekend and holy moly, they were some of the best rainbow cookies I have ever had. They are, oddly, hard to find here in Pittsburgh. I say oddly because we have such a large Italian population with so many Italian food stores and bakeries. You'd think they would be ubiquitous. I also think even when ubiquitous, Italian rainbow cookies are more often than not awful so I am thrilled about finding them at Dianoias.
Amazon Rec: You can find more of my Amazon favorites, here on my Amazon page where I am constantly updating it with all of my finds and top picks from home, beauty, fashion, and more!
Smelling: I've mentioned this a few times on social media but this body wash smells divine. It's Italian bergamot and inexpensive. It has a great lather to it and smells like a fancy designer soap. I could not recommend it more. I am loving it.
Traveling: We are going to Old Edward's Inn next month. It's one of our favorite places. We have been quite a few times so we have eaten at all of the resort's restaurants. I'm wondering if you all have any great suggestions for restaurants in the area? We are really just looking for one nice dinner restaurant and one lunch recommendation as we will likely lunch in the wine garden one day!
