One of my favorite things about autumn and fashion is the colors. They are usually saturated tones like chocolate brown, emerald green, burgundy, navy blue, and more. I love these colors. I've always been drawn to tones like this, even in home decor. I love that handsome Ralph Lauren vibe so much. It feels cozy and comfortable. So, I am all about embracing the jewel tones in fall fashion.
I'm often asked via DM if I have ever had my colors done. While it's a neat concept, I haven't, and I don't plan to. I think it's lovely for all who have had it done and enjoyed it! However, I am not planning on doing it because I, quite frankly, just want to wear what I want to! I have a good idea of the colors that look better on me than others, but I don't want to be bound to a book of colors. If I like the look of something, I want to wear it, and if it's not the best color for me, it is what it is!
Have you had your colors done? I'm curious if you try to stick to the colors when shopping, or did you do it more for a fun experience?
Anyway, burgundy and forest green have caught my eye lately. These shades are also known as oxblood, emerald, evergreen, Bordeaux, etc. There are so many different names for them that I can't keep up!
I have found many beautiful pieces in these hues, so I am due for a roundup! Also, I'm not sure that I would paint my nails green, but one of my favorite darker burgundy nail polish shades for fall is OPI's I've Got the Blues for Red. It's similar to Malaga wine but a little cooler and deeper in tone.
Some items of note...
- I have this Lounge/ Pajama Set in both beige and navy and LOVE it. The fabric is so slinky and soft. It's the best set for lounging, but I also wear it to bed. It sells out quickly. I sized up to a medium, but this runs pretty true to size and doesn't shrink much, so if you like a closer fit, you could get your true size. I prefer my lounge clothes roomy!
- I just ordered this Emerald Green Wrap + Leggings. I couldn't get enough of the color. I think it is so pretty. I like dark workout clothing because it doesn't show sweat as much! The wrap is on sale! I also got a tank to go with it as a set!
- I love this Turtleneck. I have it in black and wear it all the time in the fall and winter. It's so simple and well-made. I love this wine shade! I love the weight of it. It is between a t-shirt and a sweater so it's the perfect weight for layering but also substantial enough to wear on its own. It runs true to size. I get a size small!
