The spring season has officially arrived, and with that comes fun opportunities to host: Easter, The Kentucky Derby, Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day, and Memorial Day!
I wanted to share some entertaining items that have caught my eye for the spring season and beyond. I just cleaned out all of our kitchen cabinets. It was a chore, but I felt so good after doing it. I got rid of quite a few things, so I've been hunting for new things (mostly basics) to replace what needed to be tossed!
I love to make seasonal floral choices. Luckily, it's easy to do so because places like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods carry mostly in-season stems. I don't know all of my flowers well, but I asked our florist to use in-season flowers even for my wedding. Having a florist create an arrangement is also an easy way to take something off your hosting to-do list!
If you're curious, here are some of the flowers that are in season around this time of year!
Flowers in season during early spring:
- Daffodils
- Hyacinths
- Cherry Blossoms
- Lilas
Flowers in season during later spring:
- Peonies
- Ranunculus
- Freesia
- Anemones
As for cooking, if you are curious (like I was), here are some in-season vegetables for spring in case you want to whip up something delicious for your guests!
- Asparagus
- Radish
- Arugula
- Carrots
- Artichokes
- Fennel
- Green onion
