Outfit I wore this week!

Outfit I wore this week!

How is everyone's week going? Mine is good! Nothing crazy to report. I've had a very typical week. You all know by now, I am a routine lover so whenever a week is 'typical', I'm one happy gal! I can't believe next weekend is Memorial Day!

We had such a nice, slow weekend. We enjoyed a morning in the Strip District, which is an area of Pittsburgh with lots of food-focused shops- most locally owned. There are lots of street vendors, and music. It's very lively and one of my favorite things about Pittsburgh. We picked up some plants and planted them and cleaned up our 'yard'. I put yard in quotes because it's so tiny, it doesn't necessarily deserve to be called a yard, but boy did it require lots of work. It was so satisfying once it was all finished. Henry seems to be a big fan of the cucumber plant as he took a big bite out of one of the leaves the other day. We closed out the weekend with Jade Grille for Mother's Day at my grammie's!

Speaking of my grammie, she turns 99 this weekend. 99!!!! We are celebrating by going to one of her favorite spots and then we will have a fun get together with family and friends a few weeks later to celebrate her! Every time I think about my grammie's age, I am in awe. She has lived through so much since 1926, it's hard for me to fathom.

Other than my grammie's birthday, I am going to a girl's dinner tomorrow and a family friend's baby shower on Sunday, so it's kind of a packed weekend with lots of fun things and many reasons to celebrate!

Cardigan (code SUMMERWIND10)// White Jeans
Wearing: Mother sent me these White Jeans and I've been wearing them non stop. I love white jeans year round, but especially in the summer months. They just feel so fresh. These are a great, timeless cut and they are SO stretchy- like almost legging-level stretchy! I always go up one size in white jeans. They're a little roomy one size up since there is so much stretch, but I don't mind. My worst nightmare are white jeans that are too tight on me!

Eating: I am not a huge cottage cheese gal but I like it. If I eat it too much, though, I start to get the ick. I think it's a texture thing but I love the flavor. Anyway, I am the last person to try this cottage cheese, it seems, but oh my goodness, it's INCREDIBLE. I crave it! I don't think I could get sick of it. The texture is fluffier and less wet than other cottage cheeses that I have tried. I had wanted to try it for a while but my Whole Foods sells out of it quickly so it's been hard to snag. I was so glad to finally be able to try it. YUM! I like it with cracked black pepper and sometimes I put it on top of a piece of Whole Foods toasted sourdough. Delightful!

Watching:
I just finished The Good American Family and wow, it's a wild story. I had no idea what I was in for when I started. It's based on a true story! It's true crime about a an adoption gone wrong. It stars Ellen Pompeo and the whole thing is very Lifetime in the acting and production, but was good enough to keep me watching.

Loving: The amount of joy I get from this little bowl is not proportionate to its size or price. It's stunning and reminds me of how Simon Pearce glass appears- so clear and elegant. I am going to use both as a bowl for nuts, dips, etc. but also as a tea light holder! It's the best $30 I've spent in a while!

Loving II: I randomly ordered these wipes (my code SUMMERWIND works on these) because I thought they would be nice to keep in my car and wipe my face after an Orange Theory workout. Sometimes I run to the grocery store after and I have never liked the idea of dried sweat just sitting on my face. So far, I've been using them and loving them! They don't dry out my face at all and it's amazing how much cleaner I feel just by using these.

Wanting:
The most perfect shade of cherry red for summer! A classic pair of lace-up sandals. A beautifully cut shift dress. These sandals are a bit trendy, but I kind of love them! Adorable and affordable placemats for year-round use. A timeless little white dress. Keeping my eye on this athletic dress! Love the stitching pattern on this white quilt- perfect for summer. A fun MDW or 4th of July dress! A stunningly beautiful lace dress. Love the color combo of this sweater. An easy, pretty summer throw-on dress. Love this athletic setThis cashmere wrap is such a beautiful shade of blue, and I love the texture! These pink and green sneakers are finally back in stock in all sizes! I'm not a big designer sunglasses gal but these caught my eye! I love a sweatshirt with a mockneck

Amazon Rec: I just finished the best hair mask I've ever used! It's a new product that is supposed to reduce frizz and smooth hair. It works SO well. I also love the smell- it's intoxicating.

This was a very off-the-cuff purchase. I loved the concept of them but wasn't really sure what I was going to do with them once I purchased. Well, I stuck them down into my planters as they act as the perfect warm white up lighting. They're about the size of a hockey puck and have a stake to keep them in the soil. I will add more under the in-ground plants once our landscapers come to put the mulch down. Such an inexpensive and easy way to make a big impact.

Smelling: One of the best things I've ever smelled. The description doesn't sound like something I'd typically go for, but wow. It's wonderful. Ordering with my code SUMMERWIND.

What a random recommendation on the cottage cheese, but I will be going out today to see if the Whole Foods in Rochester has it, I’m so excited to try it!
I will also be ordering the solar lights. Last year I ordered the solar lights you recommended and they make a design on the pavers to the front door which looks really pretty. I like the idea of adding these to the mix.
I know how much you hate Birkenstocks…but you are slowly inching your way toward the style of the Arizonas! I wish you would order the shearling lined and wear them as a slipper at home. Your feet will never be happier, plus it’s very good support. 😉
And Grammie…sigh…happy, happy birthday to her.
Thanks for your thoughts and ideas today!
Patricia
