Can you believe the 4th of July is just two and a half weeks away?! June is hands-down my favorite month of the summer. Everything still feels fresh and full of possibility. The heat usually isn't unbearable yet, and I’m not even close to being tired of summer. This time of year feels so special, from fresh fruit and grilled dinners to long evening walks, sunset cocktails with friends, and mornings sipping coffee outside.
Do you have any fun plans for the 4th? We tend to keep things low-key and always make sure we're back home in time for the fireworks for Henry’s sake. He’s not a fan of the holiday, poor guy. I’ve mentioned it in years past, but we’re lucky to have a view of the fireworks right from our living room window, which always feels like such a treat. My husband and I are running a 5k. I used to run it when I was in high school and loved it so I am starting it back up again! I'm not a big runner, but this is just fun! We will catch the parade, spend some time by the pool with friends, and finish the day with a neighborhood cookout—complete with live music, good food, and a front-row seat to the fireworks display.
I thought it would be fun to round up some festive red, white, and blue outfit ideas. While my summer wardrobe leans heavily into bright prints (hello, Lilly Pulitzer!), you all know I also love preppy, nautical styles, so I have no shortage of options for the holiday. If you're still in the market for a flag sweater, you'll want to check out my review of the Tuckernuck vs. Ralph Lauren flag sweater and a roundup of many more options at differing price points. Do you all have any fun plans for the holiday?
