Henry is in front of what I thought was lavender, but turns out to be Russian Sage! Beautiful nonetheless!
We went to Bruster's for the first time, maybe all year! We went sooooo much during the Pandemic, and I think I just got sick of it. But I was reminded of how good it is! It's definitely Henry's favorite.
Pajamas// Red Light Mask (my code is SUMMERWIND)
My favorite part of the night: pajamas, red light mask, hot tea, and snuggling with Henry!
I hope you are all having a wonderful week! It's been hot and rainy here! What else is new?! However, tomorrow is supposed to be the best weather we've had all summer, so I'm really looking forward to some sun without it being sweltering and grossly humid! I'll take full advantage by going on a very long walk with Henry!
We have Buddy here all weekend! He is my parents' pup and I just love him so much. He has such a different personality from Henry. He's so goofy and has endless energy. He also loves love, which is hilarious. He and Henry get along, but I wouldn't say they love each other.... more like tolerate each other. Buddy sheds even more than Henry, so I'm vacuuming, for what feels like, all day, every day!
We have a relatively low-key weekend ahead, which I'm looking forward to. Last weekend was packed with fun, but I'm ready for a break! We went to Picklesburgh (more below), went to a birthday party, and went to a pool party.
Henry had been having gland issues (I'll leave it at that so you can enjoy your coffee, ha), and so I have taken him to the vet several times over the last 6 weeks or so to make sure he is getting better, and on Friday, he got the all clear that he is good as new! I shed a tear, which is a bit dramatic, I know. It was a common and non-serious ailment, and Henry showed no signs of discomfort or stress. It was honestly stressful for me, not him, ha! But anyway, he is going to be 10 in December. I cherish every moment that passes with him and love him more than anything, and just want him to be well, so it was such a relief that he is all good! You can see we went to Bruster's to celebrate. He loves ice cream, but I think he particularly loves Bruster's the best because they put peanut butter and dog bone treats on top of the vanilla ice cream. It's adorable.
I have a nail appointment to get my toes done before we go to the lake next week, and when I get my toes done, I get my nails done, too. I'm truly considering getting a French manicure because if I don't like it, it's not a big deal while at the lake. I've been seeing a resurgence in the French manicure this year, and it can look beautiful when done right. Should I go for it? Or do you all need to talk me off that ledge?! If you are looking for inspo, it's being dubbed the 'soft French manicure' or the 'American manicure'. I like the look of this.
Wearing: Our wedding anniversary is approaching, so I've ordered this blue dress to wear for our night out! We're keeping it simple this year, as we're heading to the lake the following day! The smocked dress is what I wore for a friend's birthday party this past weekend. It was, of course, so hot! This was the perfect thing to throw on and feel put together. The lightweight fabric and easy smocking were ideal for comfort.

Watching: Have you all watched anything good lately? I'll admit I have not watched a stitch of TV lately!
Wanting: This custom pet jewelry is so unique and special. Dare I say the 'F' word, but I'm starting to see hints of fall here and there. I think these pants are a good transition piece. This is a great straw handbag. The kiwi color in this leather tote is back in stock; it's my fave color! This dress is made for a modern-day Grace Kelly! It's 95 degrees outside, but I cannot stop thinking about these boots!!! I'm not big into plain thong sandals being worn as anything other than pool/beach shoes, but I do think these raffia thong sandals are cute! Love that Framebridge is now making tabletop frames! These shorts are very cute and look comfortable. This is one of my all-time favorite pajama sets, and it is back in stock in all sizes! Henry is asking me for this dog bed (wink wink). This Vera Bradley print is making my Millennial heart sing!!! This large duffel bag is also calling my name. I'm not super into the open-weave shoe trend but I can get behind these flats! I can never resist fabulous blue and white stripes! How did I miss this Nordstrom sale find until now?! I love the texture of the blue- I've been wanting one of these! This tweed set is so good! I just got this anorak and it's *amazing*. It's so breathable unlike so many other pullovers like this!
Eating: I love cod and just bought some and have been looking around for recipe ideas. I think I'll go with this creamy coconut lemon baked cod recipe! I think I may add a bit of dill or basil on top. Bok choy or broccoli could be a good accompaniment to the cod and sauce mixture, and then served over jasmine rice. That's my plan!
Drinking: We went to dinner at Cucina Bella last night. It's one of my favorite spots. The food is amazing. It's BYOB so we brought Piper Sonoma Blanc de Blancs and it's delish. It's so crisp and there are tons of tiny bubbles. A great bubbly for the price!
Sale: The green blanket is 30% off with code SUMMER25. You all know I am fanatical about this blanket. It's a great time to snag it because the colors often get backordered in the fall/winter.
Me and Em is having an up to 50% off sale. SO many pieces are included. I have been swooning over this pink dress for months!
Lots of Roller Rabbit on sale- even some of their iconic pajamas!
My husband has been eyeing the Smathers and Branson life belt for ages and I've kept it in my back pocket when I need a good gift idea for him. It's $50 off with code LB50!
Watching: Have you all watched anything good lately? I'll admit I have not watched a stitch of TV lately!
Hair Dryer (on sale)
Loving: It takes a lot to get me to talk about a hair product. I am very loyal to the few that I love, and most of what I try is a flop. I just recently got two products that are wow-ing me! I am not a big dry shampoo user, so I would have never purchased this Dry Shampoo on my own. I was sent this Dry Shampoo, and now I get the hype. The powder is incredibly fine, and the brush that comes with it is both dense and fluffy. The way the brush dispenses the powder onto the hair is so different than anything I've tried before, and it works so well. This is by far the best dry shampoo I've ever used.
Secondly, I caved and finally got this Hair Dryer. I know I'm like the last person ever to talk about this hair dryer, but it's another one that I can confirm is worth the hype (and the hefty price tag). I waited so long because I don't like the AirWrap, and I assumed it would be similar (it's not). I also waited because it still feels outrageous to spend $300+ on a hair dryer. I also held off because my t3 has served me well. I didn't think it could get any better! The difference between this hair dryer and any other hair dryer I've ever used is that the air comes out like a pressure washer, and all other hair dryers have air that comes out like a hose. That's the only analogy that I can think of to really capture the powerful output. I have a Dyson stick vac and don't love it, so this is coming from someone who is not a big believer in Dyson products.

Pittsburgh: It was my first time ever attending Picklesburgh. I have always wanted to go, but we are usually away when the weekend-long festival takes place. As a pickle lover, I was most excited to try all the food, especially the pickle lemonade. We went with friends and met up with my parents briefly, which was fun. We enjoyed ourselves, but I'm not sure I'd go back in the future. It was one of the most crowded festivals I've ever attended, and the 'feels like' temperature was a sweltering 100 degrees, making it miserably hot. The lines to get drinks or food were soooo long, so we didn't really get to taste much. Though I did get to try pickle lemonade, and it was as delicious as I'd hoped! After clocking in 10k steps, we finally gave up and ducked into Alta Via for a proper dinner. I just love Alta Via- the food is some of the best in Pittsburgh!
Amazon Rec: My girlfriend sent me a link to these martini earrings, and I love them. Are they tacky? Absolutely, but the older I get, sometimes I just love a kitschy accessory!
We went to our friend's pool this past weekend, and they had this fun game for the pool- you skip the rubber 'rocks' into the holes!

Yesss get the French manicure!! I got a risky nail color for my beach trip because I knew it wouldn't matter and I ended up loving it!
Oh gosh, proceed very carefully with the French manicure! It might be having a moment but the ones I have seen are cringeworthy and not pretty at all. Good luck!
Love the French manicure in your link!! Definitely the way to go...I've also seen "ombre" French manicures that are similar with even softer lines: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/1125968651518224/
