Top 5: Hair Products

Top 5: Hair Products
L to R:
Ultimate Repair Step 4// Ultimate Repair Step 3// Gold Lust Oil// Dry Shampoo
In Front: Hair Cream Wand

I'm not a big hair product gal. I find the simpler the hair routine, the better. However, I've collected a handful of products over the years that would make my top 5 list. These are all products I use weekly!

wella ultimate repair review

This is the greatest hair product of all time, and putting miracle in the name is fair. I don't go a single hair wash without it. It's a spray that you apply to damp hair before blow-drying or air-drying. The entire Ultimate Repair line uses Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) to rebuild bonds and Omega-9 to replenish the hair's protective barrier. I have been using this for years, and it works wonders. I noticed a difference after the first use, and it just gets better as you use it. I find that it makes my hair shinier, keeps my hair hydrated, gives me more volume, and reduces frizz. The biggest thing I notice is that my hair looks fresher for longer in between washes! This is a pricey product, but it is worth every penny. It goes on sale periodically. There is a mini size you can order to try. I ordered it once for travel, and now I refill the small bottle as needed. They have the original size, but they've just introduced a larger size, which is the best value and what I'll be ordering from now on!

dae hair cream wand review

I've tried cheaper Amazon options, and then I discovered this, and it is so much better than anything else I've tried. This wand is more like a brush than a mascara wand. The cream provides a soft hold, resulting in a smooth finish without stiffness or buildup. It’s ideal for ponytails or brushing through ends to eliminate frizz. I use it most often to tame flyaways and keep one in my handbag and in my bathroom at all times! My best tip is to use a boar bristle brush (like Crown Affair or Mason Pearson) after application for an extra refined look.
crown affair dry shampoo review

This dry shampoo is an ultra-fine powder. It's the finest powder I've ever used. It's applied with a brush. The brush application works better than any other dry shampoo I have tried. It's great for travel because it is aerosol-free. It's made with tapioca starch to absorb oil without dulling shine or leaving a white cast. I've never been a fan of dry shampoo and use it sparingly, but this product has really rocked my world and been a game-changer! Even if my hair isn't oily, if my hair needs a touch-up on day 3 or 4, I put some of this in my roots and it adds a bit of volume!
oribe gold lustre hair oil review

This is one of the few Oribe products I actually like. I've tried quite a few and have never really loved the brand. This hair oil is advertised as both a treatment and finisher, but I really just use it as a finisher to add shine and lessen frizz. It is supposed to repair damage, but I haven't really noticed that; it truly does restore softness on day-old hair. A few drops go a long way. I've had this bottle for over a year and am not even close to being halfway finished. I warm the oil between my palms and apply it all over my dry hair. It adds instant shine and doesn't weigh my hair down. I've tried many hair oils over the years, and this one consistently gives me the shiniest results. This is not a product I use daily, but just on an as-needed basis.

When ordering Ultimate Repair products, check the bottles to ensure you're purchasing the correct step, as steps 3 and 4 look almost identical. Though there is a significant price difference, which should be the giveaway! This leave-in cream is the final step in Wella’s four-part Ultimate Repair system, but it can also be used as a standalone product. I use two pumps all over damp hair before blow-drying. It acts as a heat protectant and reduces frizz.  I don't think you need both Wella products. If you want to, just go for the spray at the top of this post, but this is a nice-to-have and something I re-order when I run out!
