Love a good lighting situation and I felt like it showed my makeup very well. Here are all of my makeup details. The lipstick I am wearing was in my September favorites!
Happy birthday to my wonderful mother!
We went to Pizzaiolo Primo for cocktails and dessert and it was the perfect little spontaneous evening.
It's green blanket season!
Happy almost-weekend! Yay! We have a fun one planned. My sister is in town so we are celebrating my mom's birthday and then my cousin is having her 30th birthday party. Lots of fun to be had!
This was a pretty routine week. I took my mom out to lunch for her birthday on Tuesday just the two of us since we had her family party at my house the night before and we are going out this weekend! We went to Del Frisco's. I didn't know they served lunch until recently and it was wonderful. My mom and I both agreed we should go to lunch there more often!
I turned the heat on for the first time on Tuesday. That's always a milestone. I like to see how long we can go without turning it on and I was sitting at my computer late Tuesday afternoon and that was my breaking point! Brrr!!
I'm getting my hair done today which is always nice. It will be fun to have it fresh for this weekend's festivities! Henry also got a bath this week and he is sooo soft and shiny. I love when he gets a bath. One of you all recommended the groomer to us. It's a mobile groomer and she does an incredible job. Henry really likes her, too. It's so convenient because they come right to my house!
When we had my family over on Monday evening, we picked names for a secret santa that we do with aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. It's not actually very secret. I got my aunt which is nice because she is easy to shop for. I love looking for gifts for people. It is so much fun! We also picked names for our cousin ornament exchange which is actually a surprise/secret and the goal is to give the funniest ornament. We have a lot of fun with this.
Wearing: Nothing too exciting this week! Next week I'm going to share a few cocktail appropraite outfits for the holiday season. I know many of you have told me that's what you are currently shopping for so stay tuned!
You can find me on ShopMy, where I link all of my outfits, favorite finds, home decor, beauty, and more! I am constantly updating it with the latest! You can also follow me on the LTK app. Plus, you are able to access all of my posts, here, on my website!
Eating: Now, this is something I had never heard of before. Have you all heard about cooking oil made from algae? I was sent this and I am so intrigued. The website says, 'Chef-Grade Algae Oil brings a light, buttery flavor and clean, neutral profile that transforms everyday meals into gourmet experiences. With 75% less saturated fat and more Omega-9s than olive or avocado oil, plus an ultra-high 535°F smoke point, it’s built for everything from searing and stir-frying to baking and dressings.' I'll report back once we use it and let you all know how it is! I personally love olive oil. We do use a lot of ghee and avocado oil to cook with, too, but I just love the flavor of olive oil best! So TBD!
I'm proud of us because this weekend, we cooked both Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night, which usually never happens. When I say we cooked, really my husband did all the work! He made chicken cutlets on Friday night and we paired it with a caesar salad and broccoli. We had leftover chicken cutlets so on Sunday, he made the most delicious sandwich with roasted tomatoes, roasted garlic, basil, arugula, olive oil, balsamic, and mozzarella. It was divine. I am not a big chicken cutlet gal and I would not make or order chicken parmesean but my husband's recipe is so light and flavorful. I love it.
Drinking: I'm a big Harney tea gal and have a cup of the citron green tea every single day. I truly think it's the best tea ever. Lately, though, I've been having an evening cup of hot cinnamon and it is delightful. So cozy and autumnal.
Listening: I had my husband's Grateful Dead dancing bear hat on the other day in an IG story. He's the true Grateful Dead fan but because he listens to it so often. My dad and husband go to Dead and Co shows together which I think is adorable. I've in turn become a fan, too. I really like the more popular songs and everyone will loathe me for saying this but I often like the Dead and Co version of a song more than the original. Anyway, I do love a jam band. I always have. If you are not a deadhead but love a jam band, you might like this playlist I recently put together of some of the more popular Grateful Dead and Dead and Co music.
Loving: This is by far the best hair mask I have ever used. You all know I love my Wella masks, and they're really good. I didn't think it could get better than the Wella masks but this one is even better. They have a smaller tub if you want to try and not commit to the big one. It makes my hair so soft, shiny, and voluminous. It's a new-to-me French brand and now I want to try more of their products.
Loving II: Remember when most faux fur was not realistic and dull and that was more the norm than otherwise? I feel like all of the faux fur has gotten *so* much better in the last few years. Everything I come across is tasteful and doesn't look overly fake. This clutch is the perfect example. It's beautiful! Plus, it is roomy enough for my phone and essentials and has a detachable gold shoulder strap. I cannot wait to carry this!
Wanting: Love this quilted pullover soooo much. The cutest pink bag. I always appreciate a good sequin dress. A simple but fabulous midi skirt. I love a deep V on a dress, and this is just so fabulous. The sweetest under $100 fair isle mittens. These earrings are gorgeous and under $50! Classic mittens under $10... giving Hestra but a LOT less! A beautiful silver bracelet under $500. These frame ornaments are darling. I love adding ornaments as gift toppers! This sweater is winter perfection and under $50! This hanging toiletry bag would make a great gift under $100. Timeless velvet pants. The perfect cherry red wool-cashmere fisherman sweater. This cardigan is definitely on my wish list. New Aspinal of London arrivals, and this bag caught my eye! These flats are fun and under $100! A very random item that I am ordering now to have in time for winter. I keep wanting a thin pair of gloves like this to wear on its own, but also as a liner, but always forget to order them! My dad got my mom one of these beaded bags for Christmas last year, and I love the new designs this year! You can't go wrong with this sweater. I have this jacket style from last year and love it. Love that they have it in wool this year. These rings are so fun to stack or give as gifts! This green jacket is striking. A very good Dagne Dover look for less. A simple fleece jacket that comes in some really great colors. Max Mara-esque under $500. A pretty tree skirt under $100, I'd go with red! Love the colors on this fleece! This is a classic argyle sweater! You don't see argyle for women all that often anymore. I love it! The gift sets are up at Sephora. I love browsing through them all. I say this every year but the gift sets are where the best values are, specifically the Sephora Favorites sets. This is a good one! This black top is perfect. This is one of those do-it-all dresses that could work for many occasions. Love all of the colors in this coat! This coat looks cozy.
Pittsburgh: If you haven't been to Badamo's, you must go! They've been around for a while, but we recently started to get their pizza often (ish) and it's SO good. I think it's one of the best pizza spots in the South Hills. Mineo's will always have my heart and this is different but just as good.
Amazon Rec: This is definitey one of the more random things I've ever recommended but hosting season is upon us and these Mini Tongs are the best to have on hand for charcuterie. I also like to use them for things like lemon wedges, olives, etc. on a bar.
