The combination of winter weather and indoor heat is relentlessly drying, especially in the extreme temperatures we have been experiencing! I always get dry skin this time of year, but I've never experienced drier skin from head to toe than in the last several weeks. The cold has been brutal! I’ve learned to keep these essentials close. Some of them are not glamorous, but boy, do they work and relieve my dry skin!
We will start with the least glamorous item in the bunch, but arguably a genius product I did not know existed until a few weeks ago. If your nose gets SO dry, like mine, it can be so frustrating. I'll often blow my nose so much that I start to get irritation, even. This gel can help combat nasal dryness. It looks and feels like traditional hair gel. I just take a Q-tip and put it inside my nose (obviously not far in, read the directions) and put a little on the outside. I especially like to do this when I sleep at night. This helps keep your nose moisturized. It has really made a difference in my comfort and feels so soothing.
Night Moisturizer (My code SUMMERWIND may work on this)
You all have heard me rave about this product for a while now. It was on my 2025 Favorites list. I use the cream at night to deeply hydrate, but in winter I’ll swipe it on in the morning under makeup too. It's become my 24/7 cream right now, but in the warmer months, I'll switch back to using it at night only. It’s rich enough to combat dryness without pilling or feeling heavy. This is a pricey product, but it has been a game-changer for my skin's hydration.
There are three things that set this hand cream apart from many others I love, and that make it my default. First, the container is adorable, so you can set it out on your counter or nightstand. Secondly, this hand cream dries instantly. You can apply this, and in one minute, do whatever you need to do; it will have completely dried or soaked in. Third, this contains skincare ingredients such as retinol, panthenol, and colloidal oatmeal. I swear I have the driest hands ever, and this truly helps. I put it on every single night. For daytime hand moisturizer, I love this one, this one, and this one.
I have lost count of how many tubes I've gone through over the years. This lip balm is very sticky, so if you are a first-time user, it takes some getting used to. Because it is so sticky, it stays on my lips all night, unlike other lip balms that rub off at some point. I've also started wearing this to workout classes because it stays on for an entire 1-hour class.
I've been using this for years. A little goes a long way. It comes out onto a brush, making it easy to apply. It has that iconic, light, powdery scent that L'Occitaine is known for, which is always nice. I keep this in my nightstand drawer and apply the hand cream, then the cuticle oil. It's the best! These are made with honey and propolis and also have Vitamin D and Zinc. They have 1 gram of sugar and 10 calories. You can have up to 3 per day. Quite frankly, I just love these to coat my throat and give me a bit of relief from the dryness. Between this and a mug of hot tea, my dry throat always feels much better. They taste like honey, but they are not all that sweet. I much prefer these to a standard lozenge.
This is a gentle body wash that lightly lathers. It is so good at keeping skin moisturized. I use this year-round, but more often in the winter months. This is another product my husband also loves. It is unscented.
