Remember my post from last year about the Steeler Fashion Show? Well, I went again this year and it was even better than last year! Each year, the show is put on to benefit the UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program and the Cancer Caring Center.
It's such a cool Pittsburgh-centric event that celebrates all that Pittsburgh has to offer, and namely, the Steelers! This year, ballerinas from the Pittsburgh Ballet walked the runway (the theme was 'Power and Grace') alongside the Steelers and their families. There were fun performances from Pittsburgh-natives Daya (who went to my high school!) and Steve Moakler, too (I'm sure you caught a lot of that if you follow me on snapchat, @SummerWind41490). My favorite part of the show is seeing all of the adorable Steeler's children walk the runway-- too cute!
I wore this amazing lace dress. It's totally something different than what I would normally choose because it's actually a nude bodycon dress with a sheer lace overlay making it look like a fit and flare dress. I saw it on the hanger and was a little hesitant but as soon as I put the dress on, I loved it! I think this would be such a great option for any formal/cocktail event that you may have coming up. It would even be great to wear as a wedding guest! As for sizing, you'll want to size up as it runs a tad on the smaller size!
Before the show, I got to chat with Steelers safety Will Allen in the Style Lounge. I always get super nervous when I'm put on the spot, but Will was so energetic and great to chat with! He also has a wonderful foundation that, 'provide tools and resources to Educate + Influence + Empower those in his surrounding community'. He holds local charity events in Pittsburgh, too, such as an upcoming backpack drive! It was fun getting to meet Will and see all of the other Steelers outside of the typical football atmosphere. It made it even more fun to be at the game this past Sunday to cheer them on!
