I just got back last night from a fun little trip to Ellicottville, New York, with my husband and parents to ski for 3 days at Holiday Valley! It's only about a 3.5-hour drive from Pittsburgh, so it's great for a quick getaway! We skied for 3 days and stayed for 2 nights!
I have been to Holiday Valley quite a few times as we went there a lot as kids to ski with our parents and family friends, so I have fond memories of those times! I haven't been in over 10 years, but it all looked the same!
I was worried about how the skiing would be since it has been so mild this winter but the conditions were surprisingly great, and most trails and lifts were open! If you are familiar with 7 Springs/Hidden Valley, Holiday Valley has better skiing! Comparably, Holiday Valley has longer runs, more trails, and lifts (58 trails, 13 lifts), usually better conditions!
We went Sunday-Tuesday because we wanted to avoid the weekend crowds. Standing in a long lift line can be such a buzz kill!
Ellicottville is where Holiday Valley is located, and it's such a charming little town! It has quite a few delicious restaurants and adorable shops.
We ate at John Harvard's, Gin Mill, and Ellicottville Brewing, and we enjoyed all 3! All 3 had restaurants had casual American food, but I think Ellicottville Brewing was my favorite!
Sweater (on sale)// Black Jeans
Everything I am wearing here runs true to size! The vest is reversible and came inside of a Barbour jacket as a liner! It's really neat because you get a quilted green on one side of the vest and then faux fur on the other side!
Jacket (Obermeyer Akami old, similar)// Ski pants (old, almost exact same)
Similar Printd Wool Base Layer (mine's 7ish years old)// Sunglasses
Skis are Head Total Joy, Boots are Head Dream
I linked what I could here, as some of my things are old! But I did a post on ski stuff, here, which is more comprehensive!
Sweater (use code SUMMERWIND15 for 15% off)
Everything I am wearing here fits true to size!

Hi Sydney - I have been reading for years but was so excited to see you visit a familiar place of mine. I grew up outside Buffalo and we had a ski home in Ellicottville growing up. Next time you're there, try Dina's restaurant. She's a very chic, creative lady and also owns that Daff store you pictured. Anyway, it was great to see your family enjoying some familiar haunts and I can confirm, Holiday Valley beats 7Springs :) - Happy skiing!
