This year, the Kentucky Derby falls on Saturday, May 6th! I also happen to be attending a hat luncheon that morning and will then go to my aunt and uncle's annual derby party afterward so it will be a fun-filled day! On top of that, when I mentioned the derby and hat luncheon on Instagram, you all said it also happens to be the Coronation. I don't keep up with Royal happenings, I'm more in it just for the fashion, but I guess that's like the day the king is officially sworn in/crowned (no clue about the terminology here!). Anyway, that's three fun excuses to don a hat or fascinator.
I've never been to the Kentucky Derby but would one day love to attend! Since my sister went to college at the University of Kentucky, we have attended many a Keeneland race, which is a beautiful track located in Lexington, Kentucky. Keeneland is SO much fun and one of my favorite parts of Keeneland is its gift shop. It is chock full of so many beautiful and unique things, one of which is hats! So I've collected quite a few beautiful hats over the year and love any excuse to bring them out of the closet!
But, I thought I would source some beautiful headwear and dress combos in case you have something fun planned for May 6th!
