I have a few pairs of Chanel ballet flats, but the ones that get the most wear are the classic beige with the black cap toe. Though the shoes have recently become more popular, they never go out of style. I've had mine for many years, and I never stop wearing them. They're a Chanel icon. You can read my full review of the Chanel ballerinas, here.
The price of Chanel ballet flats has been increasing yearly, and I think the classic beige/black lambskin combo is now around $925. Not only are they pricey, but they are SO hard to find. I have wanted a red or navy pair of Chanel flats for ages. The frustrating thing about Pittsburgh is that shopping (fashion-wise) is almost nonexistent. There is nowhere to buy Chanel here. So, I usually shop for designer items like that when I travel or just order online.
It's near impossible to find specialty Chanel flats in a size 39. When we went to Europe last year, I visited multiple Chanel stores across France, Italy, and Spain (a photo of the quilted pink I found in Rome, that I LOVED but not in my size). My sister went to Paris last fall, and I had her go to Chanel to check for me, and they only had the beige/black in my size, which I already have. My parents just went to Greece this spring, and they checked for me, and they had two pairs in a 38.5 if I wanted to squeeze my foot into those (pic above)... I passed on that as I know, the 39 is the exact right size for me, and I honestly didn't like either option.
Anyway, all that to say that I love Chanel flats and would love a new pair, but I understand the cost is prohibitive for some, and I know some just prefer not to spend $1k on ballet flats (it's a little steep, right?!), on top of the fact that others are like me would love a new pair and can't get their hands on them! Have you seen this tweed pair for fall? LOVE but still only want to spend my pennies on red or bright pink, or dark navy (preferably quilted). So, I thought I would round up a selection of ballet flats that give me designer vibes for a lot less.
I ordered the red flats you see in the roundup above. I ordered them along with my Nordstrom Sale order (in one order) and it says they won't arrive until next week, which means my Nordstrom order took over 2 weeks to arrive, which is a long time for shipping these days! So I will report back on the fit, comfort, and quality.
See below for 6 other options from different retailers at different price points. I think they all have a classic shape; I think it just depends on your personal preference!

I ordered the Jeffrey Campbells last week on your rec! The Chanels are so expensive now, and for a shoe that gets a lot of wear and needs to be resoled and cleaned often I just can't justify. Looking forward to seeing how these alternatives go - thanks for the rec!
Just anyone style Love it
