Have you all had a great week? Mine has been pretty uneventful which is never a bad thing! It's a busy time of year for work so that is mainly what I've been focused on. I hope you all have been able to use some of my gifting ideas!
I also had a cold over Thanksgiving, so I didn't really work out. I just went for outdoor walks and was away last week, so I missed one of my workouts. This week, I've also focused on returning to a routine. Somehow I surprised myself and am still in pretty darn good shape! I love to workout, I love Orange Theory. Honestly, I don't think of working out as a chore or something I must do, but rather, I look forward to it. It's become so part of my daily life over the past 4 years that I don't think much about it unless I don't workout. I'm no longer going for muscle goals or speed or distance goals but instead just going because it makes me feel so good!
Friday, I am looking forward to staying in with my husband, ordering some yummy takeout, and watching a good movie. I'm due for a night to lay low! On Saturday, we will go to a few Christmas markets around the city and make drinks/dinner. Sunday, I will likely work... tis the season, but I really don't mind it!
I take the week between Christmas and the New Year off of my blog. I just started doing this a few years ago, and it is so refreshing, so I have made it a habit. I am planning out how I want to spend that week. I usually organize, but I organized so much in 2021 and 2022 that I am still pretty darn organized, and there is not much left to tackle. So, I am going to purge my closet. I am so overdue, and I'm just ready to get rid of a bunch of things!
Eating: If you love meatloaf and need a quick and easy weeknight dinner idea, snag the traditional meatloaf in the refrigerated section at Trader Joe's. It is SO good; all you have to do is heat it up. They also have an Italian style turkey meatloaf, but I didn't care for that one.
Reading: The dog illness going around has been on my mind lately! It worries me, but I'm trying to use my best judgment to keep Henry safe!
Sale: This tweed jacket is on sale and I love it. I'm going to Mexico this spring so I think I'm going to snag this adorable swimsuit on sale!
Watching: Don't watch this Chevy commercial unless you want to cry. But do watch it at some point. It's so well done. It tells a story in a short time period and shines a light on Alzheimer's. Until I read the article, I did not realize it affects such a huge population (6.7 million Americans over the age of 65). Truly heartbreaking.
Loving: I've seen these sheet masks time and again and I think I've never been interested in them because the cover is a bit creepy. My sister brought them to DC with her and we did them one evening while getting ready for dinner. You take the serum and put it on your face first and then put the mask on. This is my sister's favorite mask and now I see why. It was so hydrating and just made my skin look wonderful. I think this would make a great stocking stuffer an right now you can use code YAYGIFTING for 20% off (it is a one time use code).
Wanting: The perfect New Year's Eve top! Love the look of this brushed cashmere sweater. It's classic but the texture makes it 'different' than your standard cashmere sweater. I've been into silver lately and I love these flats. I saw this coat in person and it is stunning. I have been thinking about it a lot- so many colors and great quality for the price!
