I've been on vacation in North Georgia with my family and family friends, so I've been doing a lot more than usual. This means I have lots of outfits to share with you all so this is going to be a multi-part post. Stay tuned for more tomorrow!
The first outfit I am sharing is what I wore for our third anniversary dinner at the Old Edward's Inn which is located in Highlands, North Carolina. We have been several times over the years and for good reason- it is such a beautiful area.
We ate at Madison's which is an on-property restaurant of Old Edward's Inn. It's a beautifully done restaurant that marries the rustic mountains with elegance. I love it there and the food is always so delicious.
This White Linen Dress comes in three colors. I sized up to a medium and while it's a bit wide under the arms (you can't really tell), I like the medium for my hips/bum! I paired it with this Cashmere Wrap as Highlands weather is typically cooler than the surrounding areas. I was glad to have brought it as I did need it once the sun went down. I never go anywhere without a cashmere wrap. Even in the summer, air conditioning can be on full blast and I'll need a wrap even though it's 90 degrees outdoors- does anyone else get cold often?! Anyway, this color is the most stunning color I've ever seen. I'd say my favorite colors are navy or a wedgwood blue or bubblegum pink but truly, this color is just so unique and makes me happy every time I wear it. I wear certain things just so I can wear the wrap more often.
This Handbag and Sandals combo was kind of unplanned. Larroude sent me the sandals and J.McLaughlin sent me the handbag and they are both so beautiful and would you know they match perfectly! Not only that, but you can't really tell in the photos, but the dress has raffia covered buttons! I have the handbag in suede, too, and it's the perfect size and so chic. J.McLaughlin has beautiful, high-quality things, but I think their puffer coats and handbags, specifically, are so underrated. Their handbags are the quality of $1000+ designer bags and many of their bags are under $300. It's too soon to chat puffers, but I think the quality of their down jackets are similar to Herno, which is such a pricey brand! I specifically compare it to Herno because of how lightweight the down jackets are but how warm they are and that's what Herno is known for.
If you haven't heard of Larroude, it is a shoe brand co-founded by Marina Larroude. I had followed Marina in her Barney's years as she was VP Fashion Director! Her husband is the other founder and I'm so inspired to read about their business. The shoes they sent are just gorgeous but it's really the comfort that was a game changer. I have the highest arches and so many shoes are unwearable for me. The Sandals are practically as comfortable as wearing slippers!
This is a lowlight photo so it's not great, but I *love* Varley and these pieces are the best. The color I am wearing in these pieces is 'Ivory Marl'. I find myself wearing this set most often in early fall as it's a nice weight. I love that Varley creates so many pieces in one colorway so you can mix and match the pieces. I actually just ordered the pants to match my jacket so I can wear the set into colder temps. The fabric is so incredibly soft- the kind that almost repels pet hair. Both the jacket and the shorts have roomy pockets which makes it ideal for running errands or going on a walk. The pieces are roomy to begin with, but I size up to a medium for an even roomier fit. The jacket is selling out but this jacket is similar!
White Dress (on sale and you can use my code SYDNEYXPSANX on top of the sale!)
Lots of casual/sporty days around here and this White Dress has been on repeat. There are built-in shorts but you can go to the bathroom easily without having to remove the entire dress (hard to explain, but it really works). The white material is completely opaque and you don't have to wear a bra if you don't want to with the way the bodice is made!
The Crew Socks make me feel a little more youthful, ha! They're under $20 for a 6-pack!
I bought this Coverup years ago and have worn it both as a dress and swimsuit coverup! It's a little short, so if you are any taller than me (5'6"), it may not be right for you! It runs big. I got a size XS (and am almost never an XS, so definitely size down). I wear these little bike shorts underneath it when I wear a dress! I wore this for an afternoon lounging by the OEI pool. Their pool area is so beautiful and so relaxing. I soaked up every second! My swimsuit is Agua by Agua Bendita but it is older so it is no longer available.
