VLOG: Always Early

No vlog happened this Friday so I figured I would post one this Monday! I completely forgot to upload one-- you know, life happens! I also never posted my lent update with Southern Shopaholic, Tickled Pink, and Glitter and Gingham.I will save that for this Friday's post!

On that note, this vlog was when I was waiting in my car to go into a meeting because I was 30+ minutes early. Does this ever happen to you? I would hate to be late to something, so I always over plan when it comes to timing. That morning I really over planned. Oh well, better to be early than late, right? This is just me babbling-- per usual. Check out past vlogs here and here. VLOG: Round 2

As promised, here is VLOG round 2 (click here to see vlog round 1). Still working on the sound and lighting! Can't get it right just yet, but hey, I tried... that's all that matters, right?

For this VLOG, I answered some questions from a post from last year (see here) when I was considering a VLOG. If you have updated questions, add them in the comments and I will answer in next Friday's video! And yes, I am wearing my pajamas... this is right before I went to bed, I guess next time I will wear some real clothes... maybe. Just keeping it lazy real! Side note... why do I keep typing "vlog" in all caps... it's gotta stop!

VLOG: Makeup Routine

So clearly, the theme of the week seems to be makeup (see posts here and here), so it only seemed fitting to do a VLOG about my daily makeup routine. I played with the idea to do a Vlog last year but I chickened out. Also, I didn't have a computer that could handle it. Now that I have a new laptop, I am running out of excuses. I've also been into watching YouTube beauty gurus. My favorite to watch is Elle of AllThatGlitters21 (I've been watching her for years!). So it was fun to pretend that I was a super stylish beauty guru. 

I am warning you, this video is 16 minutes long and I just took it on a whim (with the camera on my computer) while getting ready one night before I was meeting my friends for drinks/dinner. It's so long because I didn't feel like trying to edit it down but you can skip through to different parts just to get an idea of my routine in the morning. I usually only take around 10 minutes to do my makeup in the mornings but since I was talking (a lot, sorry) it ended up being a lot longer. 

It's always weird seeing someone speak and see their mannerisms after only reading their blog. You kind of create who they are in your head and then when you see them interact and hear them speak, it kind of gives you a better idea of who they are which is one of the reasons I really wanted to publish this!

Some things I will work on:
Finding somewhere with better lighting.
I am so not a quiet person, but it seems like I need to speak up a bit more.
Talk less (umm.. yeah.. 16 minutes)
Quit moving around so much!
Look less at the screen and more at the camera.

I will try to do a more watchable, 2-5 minute video next time (if there is a next time), I promise! I was thinking of answering some of the questions asked last year as my next VLOG but if you have other ideas you'd rather watch or any updated questions, let me know in the comments (on this post, not on YouTube).

VLOG: Reader's Ask Questions

If you've been reading Summer Wind for a while now, then you know that I have been debating on whether or not to try out Vlogging. Well, I've decided that I am going to take the plunge. I love watching other blogger's vlogs and it helps you to get to know the blogger a little better. Fingers crossed I can actually figure out how to even go about getting a vlog onto this blog!

Anyways, instead of doing a typical what's in my bag, or other already set up questionnaire for my vlog, I've decided to turn to you! In the comments of this post, ask me any questions about myself, my life, my closet, advice, etc. and I will try to answer them in my very first vlog. Please note that I won't answer anything that is overly personal so keep your questions light and fun! I can't decide when I am going to post the VLOG but I think I will do it over Thanksgiving break when I have a little more time (midterms are in FULL force-- I'm talking several 10 page papers, speeches, research assignments, etc.).

So go ahead, ask away!!
