Outfits!

I wanted to share two dresses with you that I've worn in the past several days. The red one is what I wore on Father's day! I got this at Forever 21, and you would never guess because it's actually very well made as opposed to most of their clothing. I've had this dress for about three years and have only ever worn it once before so I decided it should see the light of day once again. I have a new found love for it! The cut is very fun and flattering, and while I usually tend to avoid the color red, I like the red with the beautiful white stitching.
This black dress is a maxi dress. I got this last year at a small boutique near my home. It's a casual jersey knit material. You cannot tell in this picture but the fabric twists for the straps which adds a little detail to an otherwise plain dress. I really like the concept of a maxi dress and boy are they comfortable! I wore flat sandals and one cream bangle and the usual pearl earrings. Over accessorizing with maxi dress can give this style a tacky feel, so just add one or two accessories! I do have to say that I bought the dress in black rather than a color or a print because I think sometimes printed or colored maxi dresses give the appearance of making the body look a whole lot larger than it really is and I find the black rather slimming.

I hope you all have a fabulous day! Stay cool in this extremely hot weather! I will be doing a packing post because I am headed to NYC and a beach in NJ on Friday!

International Concepts

First off let me preface this post by saying I'm not a huge department store shopper. I don't really like shopping at large department stores, and it may sound a bit snobby but I barely ever even set foot in a Macy's unless I want to shop in the kids section at Ralph Lauren (I can still fit in their sizes and sometimes they have the cutest things!). I'd have to say the only department store I really go to much at all is Nordstrom...well and "Tarjay", but I would consider that more of a "superstore". I usually buy my clothing either on the internet (such as Lands End & L.L. Bean & Lilly Pulitzer) or at the actual store. For example, whenever I am in Washington, D.C., I buy Vineyard Vines and Ralph Lauren Rugby because they have their own stores. I also like purchasing my denim at boutiques rather than department stores (unless Nordstrom is having a good sale!).
Sorry for the rant.. Anyways, I was out shopping with my mom and we went into Macy's because my grammie's birthday is coming up and she loves Macy's. Her true love was Lazarus (remember that dept. store?) but they of course closed several years ago. I went into the womens section and I immediately spotted the cutest dress. I mean, I fell in love. The brand was INC (International Concepts). I had never heard of the brand, but this dress almost had a Lilly-like vibe to it. I tried it on and it fit perfectly! Here is a picture of the dress from Macys.com:
INC Floral Print Beaded Halter- $99

Here are some pictures I took with my Blackberry:Doesn't the pearl beading somewhat remind you of the top of the LP Mila gown? Here is another snapshot of the whole dress:

I also love that this dress can be dressed down easily if you don't wear jewelry and wear flat sandals. It can also be dressed up with heels and the right bag! Have you seen this dress in Macy's? Check out the rest of the INC brand at Macy's; they have some adorable tunics, and clothing in the pretty lemon shade that the above dress is in! Have a fabulous day!
Yours,
sCe

**EDIT: I've received a bunch of e-mails about this dress, so for all of you that are wondering how it fits... it's pretty true to size. In dresses I can wear anywhere from a 2 to a 6, but I am usually a 4. In Lilly I am a 2 or a 4 and I'd say this is how the dress fit as well. I went with a 4 because the dress is short. It looks longer on the model in the pictures but it really is shorter than your average Lilly shift! I hope this helps all of you!

My weekend was fabulous! aMe, dLn, lMe, and I all went to Fair Oaks mall where we went into many different stores. I didn't see too much that I was in love with, but left with my favorite Sephora brand concealer that I wrote a post on a while back. Then we headed to the Leesburg outlets! There were so many stores! There was a Saks off Fifth, Kate Spade, J.Crew, Barney's, Ralph Lauren, and Burberry! We had dinner at a cute little restaurant called "Not your average Joe's" which was delicious! I had a hamburger with avocado, yum! Zeta day was a success. We won so many awards and it was so fun to spend a day with my sisters and meet other Zetas from other colleges. We won crown chapter which is a very big deal, so we were all so excited! Here is a picture of our president and I holding just two of our awards:We were so very proud! I just loved the bow in my hair. I bought several of them this weekend in hot pink, pastel pink, white, and black! They are a barrette bow and keep the hair out of my face but still look adorable! Here's another picture of my with the bow:
I can't wait to wear the others in my hair this week! I hope you all have a fabulous day! I can't wait for tomorrow because it is my 20th Birthday!!!!

Eye Candy: Tibi Dresses

By now I'm sure you've realized that I took a week's vacation from blogging. I have been super busy with my sorority duties, and my schoolwork so to keep myself from having a little break down, I decided I would take a "vacation" from blogging! I hope you all didn't miss me too much! I also MUST share with you these fabulous dresses from Tibi.. when I did come across down time this week, I was drooling over all of these fabulous dresses which would be perfect for a Valentines Day dinner!Beaded One-shoulder Dress
Sometimes the one shoulder dress can look tacky or too trendy, but Tibi makes the one shoulder cut look fabulous and classy!
Lace Shift Dress
I love the classic shift cut of this dress, but I also love the not too shiny metallic look. It's often hard to find a metallic dress that is not tacky or too gaudy.
Pleated Scoopneck Dress
I am LOVING this shade of pink. I also love that you can get away wearing this color during the winter because the fabric is appropriate for the season.Ragtime Gem Dress
Love love love this one! I usually don't like orange all by itself but this dress is just fabulous. I am in love with the circle back and the flattering cut of this tunic. This could definitely be dressed up or dressed down for any occassion.
Bora Bora Silk Dress
I love the royal blue detailing on this dress. It adds an almost nautical feel to the dress. Although this is a summertime only dress, I still think it would be a show stopper for any summertime occassion!

I hope you enjoyed the fabulous dresses, and have a great monday!
Yours,
sCe
