Personalized Bling

I remember seeing an ad for this gorgeous bracelet in a magazine (I think it was Town and Country). This is the definition of a luxe bracelet. It is Ralph Lauren's chunky chain ID braclet. It's 18k gold and engraved with diamonds. Part of me thinks it is a bit tacky and then part of me loves it... what do you think? It also comes in a more affordable silver option

Have a fabulous day!

Taste for Tartan

With back to school just around the corner (literally considering I'm semi-moving in tomorrow!) a college student needs a way to tote all of her stuff. Whether it be to campus, to a friends, to visit another school, to spring-break, to the mountains to ski, or to the library for an all nighter (I almost forgot about those over the summer)... Well, Ralph Lauren you really are in tune to a college student's needs- too bad if you want to be decked out in Ralph Lauren's tartan collection, it will set you back over $1000.
Something needs to tote my books and laptop around...
My colored pens and fun markers (I swear I'm in college...) need a place to hide...
For the overnight trip, I could definitely put this to use...
I can picture all of my pretty fall sweaters snuggled all nicely inside of this beautiful duffel....
Sooo... Back to the drawing board for a more affordable back to school luggage set! Have a fabulous day!

Ralph Lauren: Kids

First, I want to wish my Grammie a very happy birthday! I had a wonderful time celebrating with you this weekend, I love you!
My posting about kid's clothing resumes. Today I'm talking about Ralph Lauren and of course, his children's clothing do  not disappoint. In fact, I have yet to come across anything in his kid's line that I haven't loved or at least didn't dislike. I can't say that for the women or even the men though because sometimes his women's and men's lines have had me wondering if he's lost his touch. He's on point for Spring/Summer 2011 and as usual, I am lusting for it all. Here are my top picks:
Ralph Lauren does rompers. I LOVE this. It's casual and comfortable but still very put together. I love buying from the kid's department, however, I highly suggest that you always try on before you buy, considering children's clothing is cut very differently from women's. I haven't tried this romper on yet, but it's going to be my guess that it's not meant for my 5'6" self.
But if good ol' Ralph made this for my 5'6" self, I can assure you that this red number would be on my frame for July 4, 2011. Red and blue and add white Jacks and you're a vision in America's colors. If you wanted to get really fancy, I could picture some madras espadrilles... I just happen to own the perfect Tommy Hilfiger pair.
This is going into Summer Wind's bathing suit collection. I know, I know, you may think that a bathing suit is the last thing you'd buy in the children's section but I already own 2 RL Kid's bathing suits and I love 'em. This is the cutest one I've seen in a while, and it will be perfect for bronzing on the dock down in Georgia. Not to mention, it will fit right in over at the country club... Let's just hope I don't sport it on the same day that the other six-year-olds wear theirs. (I think this may be the only time I am happy that I barely have a chest, it makes for some very inexpensive bathing suit shopping- this beauty is only $50!)
Remember my post on how much I love gingham? Well it looks like Ralph does too... He also has quite the taste in grosgrain belts. This one is stitched with green turtles!
This is a little on the pricey end for children's clothing, but who can resist a good blazer! I envision this with white skinny jeans and white tank.
I had several grown-up moments while browsing Ralph Lauren. Unfortunately, they were very expensive grown-up moments. This perfect little shirt dress would get so much wear and be amazing for any occasion, however, I now understand the saying "champagne tastes and a beer budget" because for $800, this shirt dress will have to stay out of my closet. Plus, I am not a fan of the belt-- However, when in WWSWD mode (that's What Would Summer Wind Do) I would add a colorful silk sash or a skinny, brown, braided belt around the waist in the ugly belts place!
I've been meaning to add a metallic dress to my collection... not really, but after seeing this, it's now on my list.
Last, but most definitely not least, I end the post with a little bit of sophistication. For only $188, this classic LBD can be yours and finally, I can be assured that my 5'6" will be able to sport this without getting strange looks.

What are you lusting over in the land of prep that is Ralph Lauren? Are you a sucker for RL Kid's just like me? Have a fabulous day and don't forget to enter my Smathers and Branson needlepoint headband giveaway! So many adorable designs--ends Sunday at midnight, tell your friends!

sCe

Ralph Lauren Fall 2010

No, no, not that kind of gang! Ralph Lauren's newest ad campaign for their children's line is fantastic. The marketing people of all of these great companies have seriously done their job this time around. First, Tommy Hilfiger launches a great ad campaign, then Brooks Brothers decides to try and market to a younger age group (flawlessly), and now Ralph Lauren takes the cake! Check out this "story" that Ralph Lauren does. It's definitely worth watching and children will love it! It is narrated by Harry Connick Jr. and you can actually purchase the book for $19. Fifteen percent of all sales go to HCJr.'s charity too!.  Just like Hilfiger, RL has "characters" and all of these characters have a look to them. My favorite is Katharine. This sure makes me wish they made all of these RL Children's clothes in adult sizes! This season is the cutest I have seen RL in a while! Do you love all of these fun fall ad campaigns? Have a fabulous day!

Clothes clothes clothes

It has been cool here for the past few days so I decided to finally wear this adorable Ralph Lauren ruffle shirt that I got for Christmas but never got around to wearing. It is long sleeves and actually has kind of a bell shape to the sleeves but they come tight around your wrists because of a cute little pearl button that closes the "bell". I went for the more casual look and rolled the sleeves above my elbows. Once again, the poor quality on my BlackBerry camera took this so you can't tell but the shorts are cuffed seersucker from Banana Republic. I love these shorts. They fit perfectly (size 2.. I'm usually a 4 but I think these run a little large) and they are so comfortable. I added the J.Crew belt (which was actually purchased from the Men's section) to add a pop of color for a casual summer outfit. I just loved it!I tried to get a close up of the ruffles, so this is as good as I could get. Also if any of you have any requests for posts that you would like to see me do, please let me know. I've realized I've never really asked my readers for anything that they would like to see me blog about so just comment on this post and I'll be sure to do a post of your choice! I hope you all have a fabulous day!

Fall for corduroys!

Wide whale corduroys are a preppy fall staple that you can't go wrong with. They are timeless, can be colorful if you choose, and have been around for ages. I know my mother and father still have pairs from when they were in college. Plus the biggest bonus in my book is that they are extra comfortable and warm too! Here are some corduroys that I am loving for this fall:Vineyard VinesMurray's Toggery Shop (lots of different prints to choose from)Ralph Lauren

I can't find a picture to put on here, but Talbots has so many colors to choose from. My Favorite color is red berry. Wouldn't it look great with a pretty navy blue sweater?

J. Crew (on sale!)
Brooks Brothers (I love the cut of these)
Lands End (I am ordering these as soon as the cool weather hits! If you can't tell they have embroidered ducks. Perfect!)

Have a wonderful, preppy filled day!

Luxurious Dorm!

The awesome Caroline at Sweet Caroline, who is actually a real life friend of mine just sent me the photos of her dorm room. Let me tell you.. I wouldn't even call what she is living in a dorm. Luxury suite is a more appropriate term for her "dorm" room. Here is what Caroline has to say about her space:

"I love how beautiful my dorm room. My campus itself it set like a country club so naturally the dorm rooms are not going to be like any normal dorm room. The rooms are equipped with: Full Size Beds with built in shelves, reading light, power supply Desks with bookshelf and printer stand, built-in power strip, Luxurious Furniture featuring Mirrored armoires for hanging clothes and storage TV stand/chest of drawers, Coat closet, Lighted Sleek Bathroom featuring Private restroom, Granite vanity with 2 under mounted sinks Large vanity mirror Maple cabinetry with generous storage space for personal items. And everything is NEW! The black furniture makes the room real expensive but the black shows the dust. But when that is the only negative about the room... who cares!"This is their entry way which looks like the entry way into a hotel room.
Their own kitchenette with granite counter tops?! I told you it was beautiful!I love the black furniture and her bedspread looks so great!I love her memo board! Again, the furniture is just great.Double sinks, granite counter tops and custom wood cabinetry!
Her huge mirrored armoire with all of her Lilly, VV, and J.Crew!

Well I don't even have to tell you; you can clearly see that Caroline's dorm is just gorgeous. Not a detail is left unnoticed in this luxury room. Have a great day everyone!

sCe

Bow Ties

I don't know about you ladies but, when it's time for a guy to play dress up, I am partial to the bow tie. Now of course, I don't mind ties for everyday work but when I go to any formal function, it's always nice to see the guys in bow ties rather than ties. I remember, I had to beg bRc to wear a bow tie in high school to all the formal functions/dances but in the end, to my pleasure, he ended up wearing one. Here are some that I just love:Lilly

Ralph Lauren

Chaps
Brooks Brothers

Joseph Banks

Vineyard Vines

J. PressTie Bar

If only all of these were headbands. Oh well, I'll live vicariously through all the guys I see wearing such pretty bow ties!

Here's to a long day

Today was such a great day. bRc and I went out to lunch at my favorite place, and we shopped around all of the boutiques in that area. bRc got a cute Banana Republic dress shirt on sale for only $20, so if you know any boys in need (father's day is in a little over 1 week!) , head over to BR.
We also stopped in this adorable pink and green boutique! It's called the Palm Place, and it has Lilly Pulitzer, Jack Rogers, Vineyard Vines, and Lacoste. I go to this area of town just to go to the boutique. Today I spotted the greatest VV shirt:
Isn't it the cutest? I can't stop thinking about it ever since I've seen it, I guess I'm in love! I can't find it on the VV website but I think it was around $165 which is too pricy for my college lifestyle, but I reccomend it to all who aren't on a college girl budget!

To my excitment, the Lilly Jeep was parked outside. I decided that I would love to get a picture with it so I went into the store and when I came out, I had my camera out and ready and it was awful! It was gone!!! I was so sad, I've seen a lot of you bloggers with pictures in front of the Lilly Jeep and have since thougt it makes such a cute colorful picture. Oh well, maybe next time!

I have a tip for all of you ladies out there that love Ralph Lauren. I was looking for something cute to wear to lunch with bRc, and I came accross this skirt:I forgot I had it! It is Ralph Lauren circa 2005 and it's kids! I can't believe I'm 19 and can still fit into childrens clothing, but it's great becuase a lot of it is a lot less expensive. You can't tell in the picture but the colors are very vibrant. I love this skirt and wore it with a white polo and silver metallic Tory Burch sandals. I got so many compliments on it today so that's why I thought I'd share it with you!
Also, when I got home from my busy day, my mom and sister had been shopping and brought me home this too cute casual shirt from Ralph Lauren Kids:It was purchased at Macy's for $9.99. What a steal! You can find it here. It's so cute and comfortable and perfect for a lazy Sunday.

For dinner, I dined at bRc's house and we had delicious steak and salmon with asparagus and potatos. It was delicious! Then we stopped over to a local church fair to play some bingo! It was a laugh, unfortunately bRc and I didn't win once! One of bRc's friends won a couple times, I guess some of us are just luckier than others!

Have a wonderful Thursday night, tomorrow is Friday :)!

Yours,
sCe

p.s. I know I said I'd post a picture of my favorite shoes today, but I didn't have time today, stay tuned for another post with those pictures!

Puttin' on the Ritz

About a year ago, my three bff's kBm, kMl, dSc and I went to Key Biscayne, Florida for our "Senior Trip". Usually every senior class goes to somewhere like Myrtle Beach or some place like that and rent a couple of houses. However, our parents were not so keen on that idea, so we decided that the 4 of us would go on a nice vacation. kMl's parents had just bought a condo on the beach and we thought it'd be perfect to go there for a week and soak up the sun right before prom! That was around a year ago. While we were there, it just so happened that the condo we were staying in was literally next door to the Ritz Carlton (in the picture, in the background you can actually see the complex we were in, it's the one that has the slanted architecture). Can you imagine how excited we were!? The first day, we walked down the beach to the Ritz and had lunch and a few drinks. Apparently, the staff didn't realize we weren't even highschool graduates at the time... But, anyways, we had the best lunch of our lives. Literally, a year later, it is still the best lunch of my life. We ate at the casual restaurant that only required a coverup and sandals. We had the chicken salad wrap and on the side, it comes with guacamole. You think that those two things are just standard easy to make things, but let me tell you, they were to die for! The reason I am telling you all about this little adventure of ours is 1. becuase you MUST go to the Ritz and experience the food I am talking about and 2. Last night I was with my three bff's and we re-created a drink that we had there that was delicious! It was kind of like a frozen lemonade and Grey Goose. They were just like the Ritzs'. We lounged by kMl's pool (which is gorgeous) and had drinks and chatted about everyone's school year. It was so nice to have a gorgeous night, poolside with my favorite people.

Today I lifeguarded and I was getting rather bored and to my surprise, bRc showed up! I was so so surprised and happy to see him. So he sat with me for a while. How thoughtful of him!

Tonight I may be going to see The Hangover with kMl, kBm, and dSc. I feel like all of my posts are about movies, everyone must think I am a movie fanatic! But, it just happens that this is like a once in a lifetime thing were I see three movies within a week's time. I go months without seeing a movie in theatres and that really is alright with me. I want to say that The Hangover looks dumb, but bRc saw it last night with his friends and said it was hilarious, so I'll post tomorrow from my opinion on how it went. It seems more of a guy movie to me anyway.

I am in the market to buy a new watch. I have not yet revealed to the blogging world that I am absolutely obsessed with watches. I have so many, and for and holiday or birthday, I always seem to be asking for a watch. I don't really go for the inexpensive ones either. While I do wish I could have this:It's the Tag Heuer Carrera. Isn't it wonderful! This is just not in my college girl budget! But, I am willing to spend a couple hundred dollars on a new watch, does anyone have any favorite brands of watches that are trust worthy and nice quality that will last for years to come? I would love for you to share your ideas! I currently own a Breitling watch which is absolutely amazing, it has a PINK mother of pearl face, how could any preppy not adore it! I also have 2 Klaus Kobec's (a switzerland brand, which you should google, great prices on well made timepieces), a Kenneth Cole, and an Invicta.
Tonight I also went to Sam's Club. I think it may be regional, I really have no idea though. It's like Costco, if you know what that is. Well, I found this awesome short sleeve ivory color pique Ralph Lauren shirt for a steal at $12. They had many different colors to choose from and with the pink RL in script initialing who could pass it up! It is so comfortable! So if you live near a Sam's club, go and get yourself one!I hope you all have a marvelous Monday!

Yours,
sCe
