Lilly Pulitzer Spring 2013 Picks

I am obsessed with Lilly's Spring 2013 collection. I got to preview it in November and died over the printed Malibu blazer. I love the mod look that they have created (mod/retro is my absolute favorite style). 

I think the Iona is my favorite piece. I usually go for the dresses but I love the cut of this top and the print makes it wearable in early spring and fall. The buttons down the back are an added touch! 

I love the Darcy. These stripes are very mod... It definitely looks like something Samatha Stevens would have worn on Bewitched. Plus, the bow in the back is precious! 

The Lacina has gorgeous back detailing. Definitely has that late 60's early 70's vibe. 

I'm dying to get my hands on this whole dress/jacket combo. Pair the jacket with black/navy/denim/etc. in the early spring and then add the dress when the warmer temps arrive. This is very ladylike, Jackie O-ish, Chanel-esque. 

The Pearl is fabulous...I really love the two tone version. Very mod, very early 70's. I love that the back is cut into a very modest racerback.

The Sandrine is my second favorite of the spring collection. I love the very modest neckline in the front and then the unexpected cut in the back. It's fun and flirty.

Lilly Pulitzer x Lifeguard Press

Before I get in to today's post, I just want to say a big thank you to the e-mails, comments, Facebook messages, etc. to yesterday's post. The feedback was a reminder of why I blog... It's great to know that I am not the only one that feels a certain way sometimes!!

Now onto today's order of business and that is Lilly Pulitzer's new Lifeguard Press products! Katie, from Lifeguard Press, was generous enough to send me a Lilly Pulitzer iPad case in Chin Chin for my new iPad. 

Pink elephants +green floral/paisley design... what's not to love? 

The #1 reason that I love this iPad case is because it doesn't cover the front of the iPad at all. The iPad just snaps right in.. and securely too! This feature makes for a very slim case. The case doesn't add any bulk which is one of my necessities for any iPad case. 

The case has a flexible cover which allows the iPad to sit up/be propped up. The cover is also magnetic so it can put your iPad to sleep/wake it up upon open or close. 

Overall, I just love the print and the slim design. I would recommend it as a great iPad case to anyone! Do any of you have a Lilly iPad case? What is your new favorite Lilly print for Lifeguard Press? They are adding tons of new products this week and there are some great new items. I am loving the flash drive key chain and the portable battery.... I need it!

As a side note, I had been on the fence about getting an iPad for months. My parents have had one for a while now and I have always just used theirs, but I can honestly say that I am SO glad I got my own. For anyone one the fence, like I was, my advice is to go for it... you won't regret it! I thought it was just a big iPhone... which honestly, it really is.. but watching shows and playing on Pinterest, reading blogs are SO easy and convenient (and the battery lasts for all of it)!

Lifeguard Press Review

The lovely Katie at Lifeguard Press recently sent me some super fun Lifeguard Press goodies to review! Of course, I didn't pass up the opportunity!

I think I actually have a coffee addiction. I mean, is it normal to drink 4-5 cups a day? I think not. Well, Lilly Pulitzer is supporting my coffee addiction. I actually used to never be able to buy cute coffee mugs because none of them held enough coffee for me. However, this new and improved Lilly travel mug holds 16 ounces which is perfect for the commute and then just re-fill when you get to your destination! Plus, you can't really beat the $15 price tag!

I also love that the lunch bag matches my travel mug and agenda. I've had the agenda since it came out, but chose the prints to match. I like being coordinated!! The lunch bag is super spacious and is perfect for bringing your lunch to school/campus/work/etc. I am also thinking it would be a fun way to store makeup because it has a mesh pocket on the lid that would be perfect for storing brushes, lots of room makeup and it is lined.

Lilly for Lifeguard Press

I received my Lilly Pulitzer date book in the mail last week, courtesy of Lifeguard Press (on national wear your Lilly day... how fitting!). It even makes planning dull things like dentist appointments a lot more fun! After my nightmare of a customer service experience with Gallery Leather, it was about time I switched to a new planner, and this type A personality has totally joined the club... club Lilly, that is.

The stickers are a cute added touch. I love the shift stickers and the pumpkin is my absolute favorite!

My favorite month is definitely October because I love the cute pink and orange pumpkins and the fun saying, "Pick Me! I'm the prettiest in the patch!" It doesn't hurt that October is one of my favorite months too (football season, cool days, pumpkin spice lattes, colorful leaves... what's not to love?!).

Lifeguard Press: Lilly Pulitzer Review!

I love Lifeguard Press. I have enjoyed their notebooks, stationery, note-pads, etc. for years. So, when Lifeguard Press contacted me about doing a review, I was so excited! It was hard to choose two things, but I love what I chose! 

 First, I chose the Lilly Pulitzer Insulated Cooler in Chum Bucket. The print is so vibrant, it's great! I fit all that you see on my bed into the cooler. I obviously used it as a tote rather than a cooler. It is so large that it makes a great tote. Plus, I plan on using it this summer as a beach/pool bag. I am going to throw an ice pack in the bag and it will keep my sunscreen/makeup and all other beach necessities nice and cool! 

It's big and oh-so-perfect!

To give you an idea on the size I sat it up against my Just Madras tote and vineyard Vines tote.

 

 Next up is the Lilly Pulitzer Storage Bin (large). I chose this because it looks great in my pink and green themed room. Plus it's perfect as under-bed storage or on a desk shelf. I am definitely going to let cCm borrow this when she heads off to Kentucky in the fall. It will be perfect in her pink and green dorm room as well. This is definitely a college must-have-- especially because it folds to lay flat.

What are your favorite Lifeguard Press products? I love that they have so many options to choose from and feature more than just Lilly! The Jonathan Adler prints are adorable and my mother loves the Susan Wallace Barnes Calendars!

Lilly BlackBerry Case!

I am a BlackBerry lady through and through. Although I don't love my BB, I don't do well on touch screens so I guess it will have to do. I think I will be liking my BB a lot better once I get my hands on a Lilly BlackBerry Pouch! How cute are these! And for $20 it is a steal! I am loving the entire fall 2011 accessory line... I especially wanted a thermal travel mug, however, it only holds 12 oz. and I can guarantee you that won't work for my coffee habit.

Since Lilly won't support my caffeine addiction, we're going to have to call in the big guys... So thank you, Tervis for supporting my habit and providing me with 24 oz. of heaven.

The "F" Word

Don't worry.. this post is totally G rated! The "F" word I'm talking about is a particular season that just may be coming up, however, I cannot bring myself to actually type the entire word out due to it still being JULY. I actually love the first couple of weeks in August where I take requisite Target trips, mall trips, outlet jaunts, and the like to find things for back to school. It really is a great time because you get to have a lot of fun shopping for things that you actually need (okay so maybe I don't actually need another new pair of flats...) but nonetheless, I am a total nerd: I love back to school shopping. So I guess this post is another directed toward the college aged ladies (can I get a shout out?! only kidding!) . Here are several things that I cannot return to school without:

This may seem a little out of the ordinary but I get a lot of groceries before I depart pour l'ecole. I know it makes a lot more sense to grocery shop while actually in the same zip code as my school so I don't have to lug all of the food with me for the 5 hour drive, but I love having Market District brand products in my dorm. For all of 'yinz' who don't have a clue what I am talking about, Market District is a magical little huge grocery store for Pittsburghers that has tons of options and their own brand which is great as well. I find that having Market District products in my dorm make it feel a lot more homey than have WalMart brand products (I know, I know, I told you this was a bit odd). I like to stock up on French Roast coffee (I used to brew Starbucks French Roast but MD's is 10x better and I'm guessing it's 10x cheaper as well), chocolate covered almonds, pretzels, MD Sparkling Pomegranate Lemonade (this is seriously the best drink), Flavor packets for water, papertowels, etc.

The Company Store down throw. I own it in sage and adding a monogram is only $6 extra. When it comes to this throw, I am like a 4 year old child that has to take their teddy bear everywhere with them. It is hands down the best blanket in the entire world. I leave it at the end of my bed for naps, take it on long car rides, and cuddle up with it when it's cold. If you have someone heading off to college, or need a care package idea this is the best idea I've got. I cannot say enough about how much I love my down throw. (And just when you're thinking that it will get stained and dirty and then you'll have to throw it out.. no worries! It is machine washable! And if that's not enough to sell ya, there is a lifetime guarantee.. see once you have one, there is no getting rid of it.)

This is on my wanted list. For $17.50 I say how can you pass it up! I love the white zin print because it seems to be the brightest, but I just can't decide! I would really like to see these in person before purchasing because I am very particular about my water bottles. When starting my blog, my second post was about my love for Camelbak water bottles. My Camelbak is now in water bottle heaven after discovering that yesterday the mouthpiece came completely off. I am most definitely going to be purchasing a new one ASAP because it is SO worth the $22. I had mine for 2 years and literally used it every single day (that's 730 days!). So while I won't be replacing my Camelbak with a Lilly water bottle, I will certainly give Lilly a chance!

Coasters! I am thinking that 99% of college students do not use coasters, especially on the school's dorm room furniture, but I can't help it but to always reach for a coaster when setting something down. I guess I was just brought up that way. Above is a picture of 2 coasters that I made in my senior year of high school in a graphic arts class. I keep them right in my desk drawer at school and one next to my bed so my drinkware is always elevated away from the furniture.

Steal of a Deal!

Last week I was out shopping for Father's day with my mother and we stopped in both T.J. Maxx and Marshalls. While we didn't find anything for my father, we hit the absolute Lilly P. jackpot! Marshalls was so/so. Here is what I scored from Marshalls:This top was only $10. I love the teal-ish green color and it fits just perfectly!

After leaving Marshalls, we headed to T.J. Maxx and that is where we hit the mother-load! There were so many items on clearance, there were deals to be had all over!

I did not purchase this adorable Wet Bikini bag because I already have one, but I took a picture of it for all of you because 1. it is just too adorable, and 2. I received many e-mails regarding the bathing suit bag that I carry in my beach bag and where to find one, and T.J. Maxx and Marshalls are the best places to look.. This one was under $10.

You can never have too many note cards. These were Barbie ones that I have never seen before and just couldn't pass them up. Especially for $3.99! I like to keep several boxes of note cards on hand in case I run out or just because they make a lovely hostess gift.

Love, love, love this mug! It was on clearance for $2.99 and there was only one of them so I did not purchase it, but I just had to snap a quick picture because it was too darling to not notice!

This was the first Lilly item I spotted. I've never seen this dress before and I think it's too cute, but sadly it was too large of a size for myself or my mother. I believe it was only $60.

This top is just lovely. I love the way it fits and I love the mod/retro style that it gives. This top was on clearance for $29. An absolute steal! (I was wearing white Bermudas that day; I think the top looks darling with the white bottoms!)

I love this entire outfit. The pants fit just perfectly and were only $29 and I think this jacket is now my most favorite piece of clothing that I own. The jacket was an absolute steal for $50. The fit is so flattering and the quality is top notch. I cannot wait for cool fall weather just so I can sport this new outfit!

I am obsessed with the buttons. This is the best for a close-up I could get. It's the Lilly logo stamped into the buttons. I also am loving the fact that I have Lilly sunglasses with the same exact logo on each side.

These super-cute capris were $20. Can you believe it?! I couldn't! They are so fun and will be a hit all summer long!

Do not walk, run to your nearest T.J. Maxx and see if they have some amazing deals on LP! I also noticed they had some Talbots items on clearance. I have never seen Talbots being offered at Marshalls or TJ's so I was quite surprised. The Talbots only seemed to come in larger sizes so I didn't find anything for myself. Giddy Up!

Lilly+Watches= Love

Well Lilly is coming out with so many exciting things (cough-Le Sportsac-cough), I just can't hold my excitement in much longer! My countdown is set to February when LP come's out with the adorable watch sets!!!! My long time readers, have no probably tired of me going on and on about all of the different watches I love, and now Lilly has one. I say it's a match made in heaven!Now the only real dilemma that has to be which pattern to get! I'm liking the patchtastic, which one do you like?

Another wonderful post holiday sale was found at Gap. Recently I haven't been shopping in Gap because I have noticed their quality and style was not up to the usual standard. bRc and I were running a few errands tonight and popped into Gap, and low and behold, a sale with an extra 40% off! Well of course I couldn't resist to not look around and I found a beauty of a sweater. It's the Navajo cardigan. I absolutely love it!For me, Gap sizes usually run a little larger than the other stores I shop in, so I got a medium and it is plenty big, if not too big. For this little beauty, I only paid $30! I am planning on wearing it with leggings and my new riding boots. I think I'm going to try out the outfit todaybefore heading back to school and trying it. I'll post a picture of my outfit later today. I'm thinking it will be perfect for running back to school errands in this snowy mess that we call Pittsburgh!
