Brooks Brothers Does it Again!

Brooks Brothers does it again! I am talking about their Spring 2011 line. The above pictures are of their Girls line and I have to say, there isn't a thing about their spring line that I don't like! It is part nautical, part classic, part 1950s/1960s. I can envision myself in each piece for this spring/summer! It's a good thing that my birthday is coming up so I can snag some of their spring line. Has anyone else fallen in love with the Spring 2011 line? Have a fabulous day!

Brooks Brothers: Back to Campus

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will know that one of my absolute favorite clothing brands is Brooks Brothers. After posting about Tommy Hilfiger's ad campaign yesterday, I just couldn't leave my beloved Brooks Brothers out. I am obsessed, and usually love everything they have during any given season. I was looking on their website the other day and spotted their "Back to Campus" ad campaign and I am absolutely in love! Along with the new children's line (Fleece), I think that Brooks Brothers is spot on with their marketing for this season; I am impressed! Brooks Brothers is usually known to be targeted to an older, working set, yet Brooks Brothers is marketing itself to college students and is ready to outfit the little ones as well! You can watch the video and view all of the fall looks. I am loving every single one; this makes me want fall to arrive ASAP! Head over to Brooks Brothers website and look around the Campus section on their website, it makes me want to tailgate right now!
This is one of the women's looks from their fall line. I love the cozy look of the grey! Are there any other college students who absolutely love Brooks Brothers? I might even have to say it ranks above Lilly in my list of brand loyalty! Is anyone else so excited to see what else Brooks Brothers will have in the coming months? I know I sure am! Have a fabulous day!

Handbag of the Moment...

Recently I have been drawn to satchel handbags, I am in the market for a good quality leather handbag, and I just can't decide what I want. I originally planned on asking for the Louis Vuitton Speedy 35 for my birthday (in just 3 weeks!!), but there are so many fake Louis Vuittons out there that it makes the real thing a lot less special. Luckily, the government is really cracking down on fake merchandise. Here are some other options I am looking into purchasing... Let me know which one is your favorite!
Tory Burch Anna satchel in cognac, $465. A great classic bag, and with TB, you know you can count on quality. Plus I am loving this cognac color, this brown hue can work any time of the year.Brahmin Jacqueline tote, $295, A great price for a great looking handbag. It's not a satchel style which I don't mind because I love the look of this handbag. I would get it in tan I think.

Quilted Quarter Flap Lock Handbag, $498, LOVE this handbag. I have been eying it up for some time now, I just need to wait to see it in person to see if it's as beautiful as it is online.

Do you have any handbags on your wish list?! I'd love to know! Have a fabulous day!

Christmas Giving

As much as I love receiving gifts, I also love giving them. There's something so wonderful about giving someone something so perfect for them and seeing them so thrilled. So just as the December issue of Town and Country did, I will share my go to gift giving items that are sure to please many.
At $150, this is not too expensive for a close friend, a cousin, sister, niece, or other special girl in your life! I know many young girls around 13-17 would be thrilled to receive a little blue box with this inside!
Twilight Lipgloss $20. Twilight fans can now get their hands on "vampire themed" cosmetics. Now I am one to stick to my favorite lipglosses, but wouldn't this be a fun stocking stuffer for all of the Twilight fans out there!Hunter Welly Socks $30. This is for someone who has everything under the sun. They're a fun gift, and they will appreciate it, becuase it's not an item many people know about.. plus it will keep their feet extra warm and dry!Talbot's cashmere wrap $129. Becuase who doesn't like cashmere?

Brooks Brothers Audobon Double Mallard Pin $348. I love Mallard Ducks, in fact my first word was duck becuase we had so many Mallard icons throughout our home. This is sure to please a bird lover, or someone who collects pins!
Lilly Pulitzer Bon Voyage Travel Case $58. It's a really fun gift for a Lilly love of course, or a traveler. To add a personal touch to this gift, add her favorite lipgloss and small toiletries so she's all set to go wherever her travels take her!RedEnvelope.com Lp Coasters $24.95. Eco friendly becuase they are from old records, and great for the music buff! I think these would be so fun to give to a guy! It's a very unique gift!

What are your go-to gift giving things? Have a lovely Monday!

Table Settings for the Holidays

I think it's very important when hosting any holiday sit down dinner to set the table properly. I've known how to set a table since my parents gave me Brooks Brother's "A Lady At the Table" where it has a section on how to properly set a table. If you aren't familiar with how to set a table, there is a great video here. With Thanksgiving just 17 days away, and Christmas only 46 days away (so exciting!) the busy entertaining duties of everyone are in full swing! One of my favorite things that we do for the holiday season is host Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a celebration built around food so of course, the table must be set to display the wonderful food! A must in my book for hosting a sit down dinner is to have beautiful charger plates. I think charger plates can make any table look more elegant and inviting. Here are some of my favorites:
Crate & Barrel $12.95Crate & Barrel $16Food Service Warehouse $87 for 4
Mikasa Astor Place Charger $89.99Sur La Table $15.96

What are your favorite things about setting the table for a special occasion? Do you add any interesting personal touches? I'd love to know! Also, check out the lovely Christine's blog The Sweet Sea, she just started it, and I love it already! Have a wonderful Monday!

Fall for corduroys!

Wide whale corduroys are a preppy fall staple that you can't go wrong with. They are timeless, can be colorful if you choose, and have been around for ages. I know my mother and father still have pairs from when they were in college. Plus the biggest bonus in my book is that they are extra comfortable and warm too! Here are some corduroys that I am loving for this fall:Vineyard VinesMurray's Toggery Shop (lots of different prints to choose from)Ralph Lauren

I can't find a picture to put on here, but Talbots has so many colors to choose from. My Favorite color is red berry. Wouldn't it look great with a pretty navy blue sweater?

J. Crew (on sale!)
Brooks Brothers (I love the cut of these)
Lands End (I am ordering these as soon as the cool weather hits! If you can't tell they have embroidered ducks. Perfect!)

Have a wonderful, preppy filled day!

Luxurious Dorm!

The awesome Caroline at Sweet Caroline, who is actually a real life friend of mine just sent me the photos of her dorm room. Let me tell you.. I wouldn't even call what she is living in a dorm. Luxury suite is a more appropriate term for her "dorm" room. Here is what Caroline has to say about her space:

"I love how beautiful my dorm room. My campus itself it set like a country club so naturally the dorm rooms are not going to be like any normal dorm room. The rooms are equipped with: Full Size Beds with built in shelves, reading light, power supply Desks with bookshelf and printer stand, built-in power strip, Luxurious Furniture featuring Mirrored armoires for hanging clothes and storage TV stand/chest of drawers, Coat closet, Lighted Sleek Bathroom featuring Private restroom, Granite vanity with 2 under mounted sinks Large vanity mirror Maple cabinetry with generous storage space for personal items. And everything is NEW! The black furniture makes the room real expensive but the black shows the dust. But when that is the only negative about the room... who cares!"This is their entry way which looks like the entry way into a hotel room.
Their own kitchenette with granite counter tops?! I told you it was beautiful!I love the black furniture and her bedspread looks so great!I love her memo board! Again, the furniture is just great.Double sinks, granite counter tops and custom wood cabinetry!
Her huge mirrored armoire with all of her Lilly, VV, and J.Crew!

Well I don't even have to tell you; you can clearly see that Caroline's dorm is just gorgeous. Not a detail is left unnoticed in this luxury room. Have a great day everyone!

sCe

Happy Happy and more Happy!

Today was an absolutely wonderful day! Well to start off, bRc and I planned to spend the afternoon at his country club. He had just pulled up to my house when my parents pulled up as well. They were coming back from a morning of shopping, and my mom got out of the car with a new Coach purse (very cute too). Well, I personally don't care for coach (sorry to all the Coach lovers out there :), I think there are a lot of better brands out there that I would much rather spend a large amount of money on. But anyways, my mother had just gotten a Coach purse for Christmas, and yes, it was a winter bag seeing that it was a deep brown leather, but still! Anyways, I knew they stopped at Brooks Brothers as well, (they went to a new outlet strip that's about an hour away, I have only been to once) and I was hoping they brought home some wonderful things for me. Sadly, they did not. All they brought me were boxers that had the signature on them so I could make sorority letters out of them (pic to the right). So naturally, it did not put me in the best of mood to head to the pool. But, my mom pulled out this HUGE coach bag right before I was about to get into bRc's car, and handed it to me. I opened it and look what I saw!!! I was so happy! I wasn't expecting to get this coach laptop holder/briefcase/messenger bag at all!!! I was so incredibly surprised! I do dislike Coach but for the longest time now, I have been looking for a high quality bag that will carry my laptop (I currently have a Betsy Johnson case) and a few books or what not in, and also to travel with. This is absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect bag. It has so many pockets, and there is padding for the laptop! I love it! Apparently, the Coach outlets are having a major sale and it was such a deal, that my parents just couldn't pass it up! Well I'm certainly glad they didn't!
Another reason to be so happy today is I am writing this post on my fixed laptop! Yay! No more viruses, and it is fast as can be!
Well, the pool was lovely with bRc; we just soaked up the sun becuase it was finally good weather!
Tonight I went to babysit for a 3rd grader that I have been babysitting here and there. He is a great kid. We went to dinner and then we saw Night at the Museum 2. Great movie!! I reccomend it to everyone, it was hilarious. I think Kamunrah, the villian, sounds exactly like Seth MacFarlane when he does the voice of Stewie in Family Guy, but the actor in the movie is named Hank Azaria. At the end, Life in Technicolor by Coldplay is played so I of course loved it! Also, I think Amy Adams is just so naturally pretty! I also envied the leather coat she wore for the entire movie. If anyone knows who makes it, let me know!
I would also like to share with you a picture of bRc and I from the coldplay concert:I am wearing a grey j-crew sweater tank with embellishment around the chest and a navy sweater from Eddie Bauer around my neck. bRc is wearing a polo tee and his new Izod windbreaker.

Also,my sister cCm just started a blog. Her blog is absolutely adorable, I love her color combinations and everything! So check her out and leave her a comment! I know she will have a great and interesting blog!

Yours,
sCe
