Valentine for your Valentine

So ladies, the holiday is quickly approaching, do you know what you're getting your Valentine? Usually I find this holiday more for the guy to impress the lady, but I can't resist treating my Valentine to a little something, right?

Well, I always say, go the ski route, because I am an avid skiier and haven't gone skiing once this whole winter because it has been too warm. But, if it is cold in your neck of the woods, gift him:

• A pair of lift tickets (because let's be honest, you benefit from this too!)
• A warm coat, think Penfield. 
• Gloves... The ones that you can text through... So he can text you even when his fingers are frozen :)

If it's not so cold, give him a cold one... His favorite beer/liquor will do-- plus that's not too pricey... Only if you're both 21, of course.

For the guy that has everything?

• Belts... Because you can never have too many. I prefer Tucker Blair. Good prices and even better belts... Someone really cool must have designed this TB belt ;)
• Golf balls/lacrosse balls/shotgun amo/basketballs/footballs... Guys love their sport and can never have too many accessories
• Bathing suits... Of the Lilly sort. I choose this, this, and this. And while you're at it, you might as well throw in a tie too... And that super cute bow clutch for yourself. Shopping is hard work!

He got you that monogram necklace for Christmas, so why not give him a monogram this Valentine's day?!  Things Remembered is inexpensive, located in most malls, and offers some manly monograms like  a flask and cufflinks. Plus, if you're one of those waituntilthelastminute kind of people, they usually monogram most things in under an hour! I may be partial to these cufflinks as well...

Post Mourning...

I guess the title is a bit dramatic but as I'm sure you all know, the Steelers lost in the Superbowl. Needless to say, yesterday I was in a state of mourning. I refused to go online, turn on the television or talk to anyone about Sunday. I just needed a day to stay away from all of the Greenbay praise. Well, I've sulked enough, and I am back!
Valentines Day is just around the corner, and what does that mean? Celebration of course! Even if you don't have a Valentine, celebration can still occur! Who couldn't resist a celebration avec chocolate and pink!
Here are some pink items that I have fallen in love with and I am sure you will too! So stock up and make your Valentines Day extra special!

Sephora by OPI- Great nail polish! I am loving the shade 'Go With the Flow-er' It's a pretty glittery pink shade.

This is a great gift! I swear by this lotion, Rosewater isn't my favorite scent but this is nice and pink! Crabtree & Evelyn

You can always use a new set of dishtowels, and who can resist these pink and yellow ones from William Sonoma.

Going on a hot date? This dress is too fun. I love this hot pink shade and the fun cut. Victoria's Secret. Pair it with black heels and a black pashmina and you're all set! 

I've been obsessing over this Michele watch, it's the Tahitian Jelly Bean 40mm watch. I love it in this hot pink shade but actually love the pale pink as well!  As far as the price, I'm quite impressed. It's just around $300 which may sound like a lot, but for Michele, that is quite a deal! 

Kate Spade does it again! These Nera flats are to die for. Pair it with a twirly black skirt, and a white oxford and these shoes are sure to make a statement!

Last but most definitely not least, I had to include some Yurman eye candy. If $590 is not in your price range, you could go for the equally pretty Cable Heart Ring. You could buy the cable heart ring, and the Michele watch and forfeit the pave diamond cable heart ring, I'd say that is a deal!

Happy February!

Happy February to all! When you think February, you automatically think Valentine's day. Well, it is coming up in just two short weeks. I have voiced my opinion on Valentine's day in previous posts, saying that I am not a huge fan. It just seems cheesy to me! Why not celebrate with the people you love everyday! However, I can't ignore the day, and I most definitely don't mind that the color of the day is pink! So if you have someone special in your life, there is always the question, what to get him? Usually I find that guys are very hard to shop for. Especially if it is someone that has everything under the sun, or isn't into material things. I have done several posts in the past on what to get guys for certain holidays and you can read them here and here for more ideas. My whole thought on the Valentine's day thing is that it is more the guy's job to "wow" the girl. However, here is my guide to Valentine's day:

I think that thoughtfulness trumps anything that can be bought, but if you find yourself in a bind, here are some ideas:

• Leather wallet, leather belt- LLBean is a great place to start browsing for this type of thing. Small leathergoods are usually rather inexpensive, and any guy in the world could use a belt or a wallet. 
• Slippers- Who wants cold feet? This is also something that most men don't think of buying for themselves. So if he doesn't have slippers, the LLBean wicked good slippers are perfect 

• When in doubt, get him a bow tie! My philosophy is that one can never have too many bow ties! Brooks Brothers will always be my favorite for the classics but Southern Proper has great options as well as Vineyard Vines. 
• This may sound silly, but if your guy is a gamer and he's been talking about wanting a video game, go for it. You may think it's stupid and ridiculous, but if it makes him happy, then why not?
• Cigars-He can share them with his friends, and every time he pulls one out (hopefully it's only on special occasions!) he will think of you! 
• His favorite sports team apparel. Head to your nearest Dicks or other sporting goods store, and pick him up his favorite team's shirt!
• Know his favorite drink? Get him a bottle of his favorite liquor! 
• If he's a reader, find out his favorite author and then get him a book! It would be even cuter to write a cute little message right inside!
• If he loves music, or working out, the iPod shuffle is perfect. Plus, it's only $50 so it won't break your bank. 
• Swim trunks are a great idea, because most men will pick out a suit that is understated. This way, you can pick out just what you'd like to see him in and he'll have no choice but to have to wear it! 
• Lastly, I think it is an adorable idea to get him a case of his favorite beer, his favorite snack foods, a few koozies, and his favorite movie on DVD. Thoughtful, and fun.

Valentines Day Pour Homme

If your like me, you appreciate Valentines for what it's about, but the commercialism of the holiday has ruined the romanticism of it all. So I am not one to go all out for one day out of the year just because it is declared as a day of love. But I do love celebrating just a little! Who can resist pink cupcakes and cute love letters! Here are some things pour homme that I think make Valentines Day extra special without breaking the bank!Southern Tide Skipjack Mini hat $20. I love a guy with a hat in the summer, I love the white version of this hat and for $20, why not? Southern Proper has a similar hat for $25, but for some reason the little blue fist appeals more to me!When all else fails, I turn to Brooks Brothers. They are reliable, you know they have impeccable quality, anything you purchase from them will arrive on time, and your guy of the moment (or let's hope longer!) will be sure to love it. Plus like some brands, Brooks Brothers bow ties are only around $50, which is a pretty good price in my eyes!And for the "fratty" man in your life, the good ol' engraved flask will be sure to please him. You can get the one picture from Things Remembered for just $30.
I'm loving Orvis's watch box. It's perfect. Personalized, check. Quality, check. Tasteful, check. Great price ($50), check. I'm thinking even I'd love one of these.I'm not exactly an advocate of cigar smoking or any type of tobacco use, but some men enjoy a cigar every once and a while, so why not get him a cigar humidor. The one above is from redenvelope and is only $50.I just love this idea of his and her keychains. Put them together and they make a heart. Take them apart and they are bottle openers. Are they trying to tell us something? I think yes. $30.
