Weekend Outfits

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend. I definitely did. It was nice to relax and spend time with friends and family and eat good food and enjoy the nice weather. I thought I would share some outfits that I wore this past weekend that are worth highlighting!

My husband is sitting next to me as I write this and he glanced over and saw the photo and he goes 'oh that's your favorite sweatshirt' (referencing the Floral Pullover I have over my shoulders in this photo) and I asked him why he thought it was my favorite (it currently is) and he says 'because you wear it all the time', ha!!! But it's so true, I love the material- it's like a super soft athletic material but it's not fleece-lines so it is really good for spring/summer/fall so I don't overheat! I also love the neckline, it's so flattering and different.

This  Skirt is Target and SO nice. If you told me it was from Lululemon or Tuckernuck Sport or Athleta, I'd 100% believe it. It's such nice quality and so comfortable. I find myself wearing it all the time.

My sister gave me this set of Pearl Hair Claw Clips and they are SO cute. They come in a set of 4 and are different sizes. I wear my hair pulled back/up a lot more in the summer months just because of the heat and/or humidity so I rely on cute hair accessories like this!

We spent quite a bit of time at our club this weekend as this was the first weekend the pool was open! I changed out of my swimsuit and into these shorts. They are my very favorite!

I also love these Linen button Down short sleeve shirts. They are so well made and the linen is so soft and doesn't wrinkle all that much. I have it in two colors but wouldn't be surprised if I own all of the colors by the end of the summer. They are roomy so they are loose and feel like you're wearing a t-shirt but when you tie them up, you get a little more shape.

This Swimsuit is one of those classic one-piece swimsuits with a low scoop back and a higher cut in the legs. I really love it and love how it pairs with pareos. I have this Swim Wrap in so many colors. They are inexpensive and really great to throw on when I want some added coverage.

Lately

Can you believe this is the last full week of May? I really can't believe it!

This past weekend was my sister's wedding and it was SO much fun! She looked absolutely gorgeous and it was so wonderful to be together with so many friends and family! I will share more in days/weeks to come! It all went by so fast, I feel like I have lived SO much this past week, haha!!

Post-wedding I hopped on an early morning flight to Mackinac Island in Michigan. Actually, it was a car ride, two flights, a shuttle, a ferry, and a horse-drawn carriage ride to get there and back, HA! I went with the brand Sailor Sailor to shoot some of their upcoming summer pieces! It was so much fun to be with the wonderful women behind the USA-made brand, Kim, and Kimberly, and stay at the iconic Grand Hotel, which boasts the largest front porch in the world! The island is just gorgeous. I can really see why so many of you messaged me with such fond memories of the area. It was a pretty quick trip so I didn't have much time to explore a ton but I will be back, that's for sure!

Between a wedding and a trip with long travel days back-to-back, I am TIRED and also really backed up on DM's, emails, and work in general. I need a bit of rest and time to catch up for the next day or two! So glad to have a 3-day weekend coming up. We don't have a ton of solidified plans this weekend which I am thankful for. Hoping to just relax, sleep in, and spend time with family and friends, and if the weather cooperates, head over to our club as they are opening the pool this weekend!

I'm light on the links this week's post as I just haven't been on my phone or computer much at all so today and tomorrow will be big computer days for me!

Eating: This recipe for penne asparagus lemon pesto sounds sooooo good!

Watching: I just watched Anatomy of a Scandal on Netflix. Sienna Miller stars in this courtroom drama and I really liked it. It's only 6 episodes so you can blow through the entire series pretty quickly. The best part of the show is Sienna Miller's outfits! They are so chic and sophisticated and classic. It had me so excited for fall- when I personally thrive when it comes to style/fashion. I love sweaters and coats (no, not puffers, actual fall coats).

Loving: Such a pretty Savannah, GA home
Wanting: So many cute things!

Pittsburgh: 22 of the best bakeries in Pittsburgh. 350 gets my vote for #1 and a close second is Mediterra.
Amazon Rec: My sister had us all wear these earrings for her wedding. They are not something I think I would have ordered on my own but after wearing them I really love them. They are inexpensive and look so pretty with a more formal dress/gown! You can find more of my Amazon favorites, here!

Traveling: We are off to Cincinnati, Ohio for a wedding in early June! I have never actually been to Cincinnati so I am excited. I have driven through it many times as you drive right through downtown Cincinnati to get to Lexington, KY (where UK is- my sister went to college there) from Pittsburgh.

Quoting: See more of my favorites, here.

5 Items I Highly Recommend

These are the BEST no-show socks. They are so high quality, they are beyond comfortable and soft, and they do not slip off your feet at all. Seriously, they do not budge on my feet. 10/10 recommend.

It pains me deep in my soul to not only recommend these but to put these on my 'highly recommend' list. They are $10 plastic Target sandals. I don't even think they are cute but the comfort is beyond. I wear them to walk Henry around the neighborhood and to go out and water my plants and stuff like that. I love that you can just hose them off. They never hurt my feet and they don't make my feet sweat at all. For $10, I am literally considering buying a second pair because if these ever sell out, I will be sad to not have a backup. You will never see a photo of me in these on the internet, HA!

I also hate that I love these so much because of their price. They are pricey for cotton shorts in my opinion but do you know, if they came out with other prints in this exact style, I would buy them all. I LOVE the fit of these. You are all probably sick of me talking about how much I love these by now but I really felt like I needed to include these. They feel like wearing athletic shorts in that they are so roomy and lightweight but they also somehow look kind of dressy. I am not a shorts girl really, I don't find them to really be flattering on me but thee are somehow really cute. They run true to size but fit roomy.

This is one of those 'Sephora Favorites' kits that you can get with mini-sized of 5 different mascaras by 5 different brands. Right now, I don't have a mascara that I am wild about so I figured I would use this to figure out a new mascara that I love. I think this is a really good buy as you get 5 minis for the price of one, basically. So far, I am really loving the Lancome Idole and the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes the best but truly, these are all pretty good.

I got this pearl station necklace last year and have been wearing it a ton lately. I really love it during the summer months and it is so high quality. It's beautiful to wear on its own but also looks really nice layered with other necklaces. It would make a really nice gift! June has a pearl birthstone so, hint hint for anyone looking for a great birthday gift!

Bright Pink Sundress

Dress// Sunglasses (these are Amazon under $20!)

I hope you are all having a great week so far! Today I am popping in to share this bright pink Lilly dress with you all! Was planning on a different post today but have not had much access to WiFi/internet as I expected on my travels so this will be a quicker post than usual! Thanks for sticking with me!

I LOVE this print so much. I think this could be one of my favorite prints of all time. This Dress arrived in the mail on Thursday, I promptly put it on and then ran Henry around the block for a quick potty walk. I encountered a handful of neighbors and every single person I encountered commented on how much they liked my dress. A girl yelled from across the street to ask me where I got it!

Then, I wore this Dress it to the grocery store and the cashier commented on how much he loved it! I had my family over for dinner that night, and completely unprompted, they complimented me.

Then, I decided to re-wear it Friday afternoon for my sister's rehearsal at her venue and SO MANY compliments.

By now, you get it. This Dress is one of those dresses where people will stop you and ask you where you got it. The color is so bright and cheery, I don't think I could be sad wearing it. And it's SO comfortable. It's super lightweight (but lined and well made). The white ricrac really pops against the bright pink. The neckline is fun and different, and you get the perfect fit (and comfort) with smocking in the back.

I am wearing a size 2, I would say it fits somewhat true to size but a size 2 is the smaller of the two sizes I usually waver between so size down if you can't decide!

Channeling Coastal Grandmother

Shop the Look:
So, the term 'coastal grandmother' is currently making its rounds on social media in the past few weeks. I kind of chuckle at the terms like these that popup. Grandmillenial, coastal grandmother... basically just other terms to describe traditional taste and style but people turn it into more of a personality than just style.

Anyway, coastal grandmother was inspired by Diane Keaton's character in Nancy Meyer's 'Something's Gotta Give' and listen, I am here for that. I not only love both Diane Keaton and Nancy Meyers, but I absolutely love 'Something's Gotta Give'. The beach home in that movie is just gorgeous. Look it up. The movie is almost 20 years old but it does not look dated at all. Timeless, totally!
Pic at Le Grand Colbert from 2017!
I also have to say, I ate at Le Grand Colbert when I was in Paris and it was fabulous and I was totally living in my 'Something's Gotta Give' dreams, ha!

Anyway, this outfit gave me a coastal grandmother feeling because of the natural white linen fabric, a big hat to cover my face and flat, sensible but cute sandals.

Lately

Dropping in with a quick little intro today as this has been A WEEK! My grammie's 96th birthday was on Tuesday and we celebrated with family, I am having family over to our house for dinner this evening, and then tomorrow is my sister's rehearsal/rehearsal dinner. So excited for their big celebration on Saturday!

Then, I leave on Monday, early morning, to go to Mackinac Island for a few nights with the Sailor Sailor team. I am so excited as I have never been before.

Needless to say, I've got a lot on my plate right now and I'm trying to manage it all. I just really want to be able to be fully in the moment this week and weekend. That's the goal at the moment!

Eating: I used Home Chef all this week and last because I was not having time to grocery shop, cook, or even remotely think about anything to do with feeding ourselves, ha! This made it so easy and ensured my husband and I stayed on track with cooking at home but we also didn't waste anything since these are all pre-portioned out. If I hadn't done this, I think we would have ended up eating ChikFilA all week long and if I had gotten groceries, I think there may have been wasted food which is always something I try to avoid. This was seriously the BEST move. I am so glad I thought ahead to set this up. This was pork meatloaf with brussels and cabbage and oh my gosh, it was delicious!

Sale II: I rarely buy full-priced Tory Burch and am always looking in the sale section. Right now, they have a really good sale selection. I have been keeping an eye on this gorgeous tunic to see if it gets marked down further. I'm obsessed!

Watching:
I watched the HBO version of The Staircase and liked it. Didn't love it, but still worth the watch. I think it helps if you have already seen the Netflix documentary (which I think was better). It's a wild story. On my list to watch is Anatomy of A Scandal (Netflix).

Listening: Last week we went to Ohio (where my husband is from) as he was presenting a scholarship to honor his brother who passed away when they were children. It was such a nice event. We drove there and back in one day. On the way home, we played this 90s playlist and it was so fun to jam out to all of the songs that I haven't heard in so long! I don't understand how my brain retained SO many lyrics to all of these songs, many of which I probably haven't heard in at least 10-15 years! I seriously think everything should be taught to music- I'd remember it so much easier, HA! In fact, now that I think about it, our French teacher in high school would teach us verb conjugations set to songs. I can literally STILL do those conjugations because of the songs.

Loving: My friend, Abby, launched a gorgeous collection with Lisi Lerch! So many beautiful hydrangea and nautical-themed jewelry, hats, and bags!!!

Loving II: Got my order from the Julia Berolzheimer x Pottery Barn collaboration and I was so pleased with both the tray (sold out) and the little planter that I got! I actually plan on using the planter as a vase! I only wish I also purchased the larger tray as the small one is just gorgeous and so well-made!
Wanting: How cute is this top?!

Pittsburgh: Clapton is coming to Pittsburgh in September and I would just love to go. I LOVE his music. He is so talented!
Amazon Rec: This is such a pretty container for coffee grounds. I keep it right on our kitchen counter next to my coffee maker! You can find more of my Amazon favorites, here!

Quoting: 'That is the simple secret of happiness. Don't let the past move your mind; don't let the future disturb you. Because the past is no more, and the future is not yet. To live in the memories, to live in the imagination is to live in the non-existential. And when you are living in the non-existential, you are missing that which is existential. Naturally, you will be miserable, because you will miss your whole life.' -Osho  // See more of my favorites, here.
