God Bless Us, Everyone!

"But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord." "

Christmas Eve Outfit

It is tradition for our family to go to Christmas Eve mass. After mass, we return to our house and family and friends come over for a big celebration. It is one of my favorite parties of the year... lots of hors d'ouevres and bubbly!

Per tradition, cCm, my mom and I always get dressed up for mass. I'm not going to spoil the outfit I am wearing, but will show some inspiration for my outfit!

Several months ago, People Magazine published an entire issue featuring Jackie O. I spied her in this gorgeous yellow silk maxi skirt.

You know how I have a thing for green (see post here)? I fell in love with this girl's maxi skirt while browsing Tumblr (not so much her stomach showing).

And then to top it off, I spied Troy Polamalu's wife in a gorgeous green maxi skirt.

Can you guess what I will be wearing come December 24th? What are you wearing Christmas Eve? What is your Christmas Eve tradition? Have a fabulous day!

Fa la la la la

Getting in the Christmas spirit can, sometimes, be tough. I remember when dealing with finals, many times, Christmas had to be put on the back burner. Here is Summer Wind's fool proof way to get yourself into the Christmas spirit!

Step 1
Put on Pandora Christmas. My favorites are Wynton Marsalis, Frank Sinatra and Steve Tyrell holiday stations. (See my favorite Christmas tunes, here).

Step 2
Have a hot drink. Starbucks hot chocolate is one of my favorite holiday beverages!

Step 3
Add a fun wallpaper to your phone! I love Ashley Brooke Design's illustrations each month. December's is too cute!

Step 4

Christmastime
Dress in your holiday best! Pile on the pearls, pull out your glitter heels, throw on your red skirt and festive plaids!

Step 5

Pop in your favorite Christmas movie. My top 10 are:
  1. Home Alone
  2. Charlie Brown Christmas
  3. Eloise at Christmastime
  4. The Polar Express
  5. Elf
  6. Miracle on 34th Street
  7. It's a Wonderful Life
  8. A Christmas Story
  9. The Holiday
  10. The Santa Clause
  11. Honorable mention: Rudolph (Rankin Bass)
Step 6
Do something charitable. Last year, my sorority adopted children for the day and took them Christmas shopping. I took out a little girl and got her fun presents and we also picked out gifts for her brother. It was so much fun for me to hang out with a little girl for the day and I am sure she had a blast as well.

This year, I donated to FEED Projects which was started by Lauren Bush. I love charities that support children so this was one of the reasons I chose FEED. "1 in 7 go to bed hungry every night", this is a sad, sad, statistic... everyone deserves a good meal everyday, especially children that cannot provide for themselves.

There are tons of other organizations that you can donate money, supplies or time. Shriner's Hospital is something that my family and I support wholeheartedly. My dad and grandfather are Shriner's and part of their masonic lodge and this is something that they work hard to support.

Another charity near and dear to my heart is the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation. ZTAF is responsible for NFL pink out games, Breast Cancer Awareness month, Yoplait Lids and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Step 7
Instead of painting the town red, paint your nails red! Below are some of my top red shades for the holiday season:
What are your favorite things to get you in the holiday spirit? Have a fabulous day!

Christmas Wishing

I have been so busy between school, spending time with friends, cooking, cleaning, blogging, traveling, etc. that I haven't had time to create a detailed Christmas wish list. However, that doesn't mean I don't have a fun little list in my head that I thought I would share with you!
Too Faced Neutral Eye palette. My roommate, jSl has this and I have tried it and love it! I don't like wearing a lot of make up but this has a lot of great neutral shades. Most are great for day-wear but a lot you can mix to make it more night appropriate. If you like doing a smokey eye, they also offer a smokey eye palette along with several other themed eye palettes.
The Body Shop grapefruit body wash and body butter. I have never tried either of these products, however, when I was little, we used to have bars of soap shaped like elephants and the soap was this Body Shop grapefruit scent. I am thinking this will bring back memories of being a kid and not to mention it smells wonderful!
Barbour Liddesdale coat. I would like it in black. This coat is fabulous. In black it an be somewhat dressed up or dressed down. The length is a lot longer than waist-length which I love. Plus, you get Barbour quality for only around $150. I think it is really cute when you see couples out both in their Barbours!
KEP Designs B400... If you haven't checked out KEP designs, it is a must. They have gorgeous jewelry. This bracelet is just beautiful!
Kate Spade hand in hand bangle. So cute! Love the saying too! Definitely a great thing to give as a gift as well!
Scout Deano bag in Deaf Leopard. I've posted how I've just recently been introduced to Scout and how much I absolutely love them. Well, I need the Deano added to my collection! I am going to use it for putting all of my damp ski clothing in it apres ski. The bag is waterproof and perfect for just dumping it out into the washing machine when I return home.
Faux fur vest! I have crossed the line from wanting to needing one of these babies. Because I've been at school, I haven't had a chance to try any on but there are a lot of great options at a lot of different price points. Piperlime has some good options along with Nordstrom and Neimans.

Swell Caroline monogram ring. Love love love this. It is so unique and fun! Perfect to give as a gift as well. Very inexpensive and a wonderful, thoughtful present.
Thomas Crown Affair. I first saw this movie last year and love it! I want to add it to my growing collection.
The Bag Lady Papers by Alexandra Penney. This book is all about editor in chief of Self Magazine lost everything to Bernie Madoff. I think this would be an extremely interesting read.

L.L. Bean men's plaid button down. I want it to wear on lazy days. It's over-sized and comfortable but still structured enough to leave the house.
Kate Spade Larabee dot wallet for iPhone. Love this. I've had my eye on this for a while. So functional. Remember it from my post last Thursday?

What are some things on your Christmas wish list? Have a fabulous day!

Me and Mrs. Jones

I have tweeted several times about my love for the Steve Tyrell station on Pandora-- it plays a really great assortment of music. Well, I also love Michael Buble (Michael Buble on Pandora is also a great station) and one of his songs, Me and Mrs. Jones came on. Me and Mrs. Jones is one of my very favorites and I had never heard it live until...
It popped up on my Pandora and I love love love it!

Here is it on YouTube so you all can listen... I love when the crowd sings along--so fun! And if you are gearing up to put yourself in the Christmas mood (who am I kidding, I've been listening to Christmas music since September) Buble has come out with a Christmas 2011 album and I love it!

Preview it above! He is definitely a happily added addition into my iTunes playlist, "Christmas"! Do you have the new Michael Buble Christmas album? Do you love MB? Have a fabulous day and don't forget to ask questions for my future VLOG and enter my Tervis GIVEAWAY!

And the Christmas Countdown Begins!

Three months until Christmas (well Saturday actually started the countdown!). So every month from now until Christmas I will be posting a little something to get you in the mood! Hey, ya gotta start sometime, right? This month it is a clip from the Today Show from 2008. It is Harry Connick Jr. and his beautiful 11 year old daughter singing Walking in a Winter Wonderland. It is such a cute clip! Enjoy!

Holly GoNightly

Of course you all recognize this as the sleep mask, Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's wears. Well it can be yours for the small price of $14 found here. Fred Flare to me, is a very "out there" store, and often times I stop at their website just to get a laugh or see what ridiculous things they have to offer, well they really caught my eye when they featured this! This would make a great stocking stuffer!

Also, check out the Starbucks website (here) and register your Starbucks card for a freebie on your birthday!
Have a wonderful day, just 3 days until Christmas!!

Celebrate Me Home, Once Again!!

"Celebrate Me Home
Home for the holidays,
I believe I've missed each and every face,
Come on and play my music,
Let's turn on every love light in the place"- Kenny Loggins

I am once again headed back to the wonderful Pittsburgh, PA. I am free from schoolwork for a month! (finally breathe a sign of relief!) But before I head back to the 'burgh, I am headed to wonderful Washington, DC for a long weekend getaway with dear family friends and my family. I am so excited to see Washington at Christmas, and my parents will be sure to visit the white house Christmas tree because that is where they got engaged, and this year marks their 25th anniversary, how exciting for them! I cannot wait to share with you all my wonderful trip! Stay tuned! Have a lovely weekend and for all my fellow college students out there, may you make it home safely for a wonderful break!

I am back in Pittsburgh, and it is so wonderful to be home! Yesterday I spent a wonderful day with my aunt doing some much needed shopping! We had lunch at the Cheesecake factory which was amazing as usual and the area was decked out for Christmas (above picture)! I definitely recommend the Thai Chicken Pasta, and for dessert I had brownie sundae cheesecake which was incredible! I can never go to CF without getting cheesecake! While shopping, we popped into Target and I found two adorable things that I just had to share with you all!

This pillow reminded me of the Lilly peacock dress, and I think would look fabulous as a throw pillow for a couch. Too bad purple doesn't match anything in my house!
Snagged this snowman right up! It was too cute and not only can be used for Christmas but I think well into February! Tonight is a Family and Friends get-together which I'm very excited for! We are having an amazing shrimp dish. I will post the recipe for you all tomorrow! It's definitely one of my favorite foods of all time! Have a wonderful Saturday!

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"

Yes, you read the title right. I said the C word. Christmas is my absolute FAVORITE holiday. It's not even the actual day of Christmas that I love the most; I love the time from Thanksgiving through New Years. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside :) Well today is the start of my Christmas countdown! (I know, I know, it's not even Halloween yet) Only 3 more months until Santa Clause comes to town! I can't wait for Miracle on 34th street to come on TV. It is one of my favorite Christmas movies. You can't forget about Christmas in Rockefeller Center or A Christmas Story! Have you started your Christmas countdown yet? To get you all in the mood, here is Frank Sinatra's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas":

Have a great day everyone!!
Yours,
sCe
