Preppy Beach Towel!

I saw this beach towel on Lands End's website and I just had to share it with you all! It's only $17.50 and with spring break right around the corner, who wouldn't want to show off this towel! The picture quality is terrible for some reason but they have the pink and green color combination which I love! They also have a pale pink and navy combo and a navy and pale yellow combo. I have to say surprisingly the navy/yellow combo is my favorite! Have you ordered one of these towels? If so, let me know! I'm anxious to see if they hold up well! Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Crafty Wednesday!

So, after getting so many compliments on one of these frames that I have in my room, I thought I would share it with you all and tell you how you can have an adorable frame for yourself or friend! (sorry for the bad quality phone pic!)
First I headed to Michaels to buy all the supplies. You'll need:
-Ribbon of your choice
-Paint colors of your choice ( I really like the craft smart brand acrylic craft paint)
- an array of paint brushes
-Shiny lacquer coat if shine is desired (for this particular frame there is not shine to it, however, I think a dark brown with a shiny finish looks really classic to fit with any room)
- Wooden picture frame (there are many shapes and sizes to choose from)

I started off by putting news paper down. Then I picked my paint color and then word color. In this case my paint color was a pretty hot pink with white paint for the letters. I am obsessed with the pink and green ribbon that is above my frame, it has a shimmery/satiny feel that really dresses the frame up. Next, I took a spongey brush and coated the frame with the pink paint several times over. Just make sure you do as many coats as necessary to cover the wood grain. Then I let my frame dry for about 2 hours. Then I added the letters on. This was free hand but you could go about this in so many different ways. They sell paint pens so you could literally just write with paint. I added the letters with think paint brush in plain white acrylic paint (next time I want to use one with a shimmer!). Add the bow with glue and voil-a! I think these can make really great personalized impromptu gifts. I think it would also be a great idea for a little girls birthday party craft. It's an inexpensize way to personalize my dorm room too!

Have a happy Wednesday! Don't forget to enter my bow-tie giveaway which ends Monday 9/28!!

Pink and Green dorm!

The next space I am sharing is Mallory from Just A Preppy Beach Chic Girl. Her's is an adorable pink and green/Lilly themed apartment. If you aren't a reader of Mallory's blog, head right on over, it is such a fun read! Thanks for sharing your room with us Mallory! Here is what she says about her apartment:

"I looked for pink and green items that were not childish but more with a graphic print. I also love my big "M" that my mom surprised me with last homecoming!
I love the beach and having the painting above my desk relaxes me.
My pink bookcase is Lilli-fied with Essentially Lilly, the Lilly Calender, and the Lilly picture frame.
My favorite thing in my room is the pink picture frame above my bed. It says, "Have faith in your dreams and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through." - Cinderella
I submitted this to the Lilly Pulitzer College Decorating Contest and won!"I just love all of the pink and green. My roommate has the same bedding except in oranges and pinks!Lilly and the beach go together oh so well!I love how she used her book shelf not only for books, but to display what she loves: Lilly, Theta, Pink and Green, and pictures!Lilly Galore!

Now I can definitely see why Mallory won Lilly sunglasses from the Lilly contest on facebook! Her room is so adorable with a beach/lilly/pink and green theme. It's the perfect sorority girls room. I also love her big M on the wall! I have a small S on my wall, but am definitely doing to keep my eyes peeled for an S like Mallory's! Thank you again to Mallory for sharing her room with us! Have a great day!

First Dorm Showcase!

Well, as I promised, I am featuring adorable dorm rooms/apartments this week from bloggers who have been kind enough to share pictures of their space and a little blurb on why they love it! I am starting off with the adorable Melissa from College Belle. When she e-mailed me her pictures, I have to admit, I got a little jealous! Her room is just adorable; full of pink and green cuteness! If you don't follow her, head right on over, you will love her blog! Without further ado, here is what Melissa has to say about her super cute dorm room:
"My dorm is very preppy and the full of pink and green. My room fully embodies a preppy, collegiate look. There are tiny pink and green accents everywhere and a great sense of both my roommate and I. My dorm may be teeny tiny (especially my closet!) but we were able to put our mark on it. We are both preppy and everything in our room reflects that. From our Jackie O magnets on the micro-fridge to the fabulous curtains, we have really made the room look like our own."
I love her Pink and green pillow matched with the pink bedspread! Her closet is small, but she makes the best of the space by adding storage containers and hanging sleves. Does anyone else spot the Jack Rogers at the very top and the cutest pink Longchamp at the bottom!?

I have to love the two posters she has. We definitely have the same taste :) Plus I think the blue lanterns add such a fun touch. She has all of the essential books of a prep!
Melissa's monogrammed pillow case adds such a cute little touch.

I hope you all had a wonderful time seeing how Melissa turned a boring dorm room into her own. Thank you to Melissa for sharing! Have a wonderful day!

"it turned out so right, strangers in the night"

I just couldn't wait any longer to show you all my dorm! It turned out amazing. The room is so much bigger than I imagined and our bathroom is SO nice. I moved in yesterday with the help of my wonderful parents. It was hard work considering I'm on the 3rd floor! Here are some more pictures of my room:
