Gift Guide 2024: Host and Hostess Gifts

Gift Guide 2024: Host and Hostess Gifts

Happy first day of gift guides! Last year, I paused the Weekend Wish list during the holiday season, but this year, I'll be doing gift guides on Tuesdays and Weekend Wish Lists in their usual Friday spot. I know many of you enjoy the WWL, and it's a fun way to see what's new from the week that's not necessarily giftable, so fret not!

It's wild to be posting these guides. It doesn't feel like we are nearing the holiday season. I've already seen some decorations pop up around town, but we have had such gorgeous and warm weather that it hasn't hit me. I haven't had to put on a puffer jacket just yet, and that's kind of novel. It's supposed to be 80 degrees for Halloween. Some years, kids have snowsuits under their Halloween costumes, so this is new! We only have two months of 2024 left!

I always do the host and hostess guide to kick off the season, as these gifts are the perfect things to bring along with you to a Thanksgiving dinner, upcoming holiday party, or as a weekend guest! I also like to keep things like this on hand because they make lovely neighbor gifts. They are also nice to give to people as a small token of thanks, for example, for watching Henry.

I have a gift bin where I store things like this, so I always have something on hand for last-minute situations! Being prepared like this takes the stress out of the holiday season and helps me year-round!

If you'd like more ideas, you can check out 2023's host and hostess gift guide, as almost all of the great gifting items are still available!

I also linked all of 2023's gift guides for your perusal. Many of the items are still in stock and make great gifts.

I put a lot of thought and care into these guides and am very selective in what I include. I also don't accept sponsorships for gift guides, so I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you checking these out and using my shopping links! Part of how I make an income is when you purchase something using my link, I make a small commission at no cost to you.

I hope these guides are different and unique from many other content creators you follow!

Hand Soap// This hand soap is the most luxurious hand soap I've ever used! The bottle itself is stunning and so heavy! The hand soap, in the signature scent, smells beautiful. It's masculine and feminine all in one. It's just such a universally luxurious scent! If you really want to WOW someone, this is it. I think this would be perfect to bring to someone if you are staying with them for a few days!

Kitchen Towels// A set of 4 of these towels are just $10. I truly think that they are the nicest kitchen hand towels on the market... better than WS! I think you could give these as a set or separate them and wrap a bottle of wine or olive oil with one of them!

Castelvetrano Olives// I love these olives. They are in a beautiful jar and are perfect for the martini lover! They are just $10 and can be found at Whole Foods. When in doubt, I think food/drink gifts are always appropriate and easy to acquire. They are personally my favorite type of gifts to receive.

Truffle Salt// This is the BEST salt on popcorn. It's such a treat!

Silver Photo Frame// We have these all over our home. They are beautiful and affordable. We stayed at a friend's home a few years ago, shortly after our wedding, so I framed a photo of the couple from our wedding and gave it to them as a hostess gift!

Bath/Shower Pebbles// These are truly a fun an frivolous gift... a little luxury, if you will! These little 'pebbles' feel like a small bar of soap, but when you shower with them, they are like a body oil one on side and an exfoliant on the other. They smell incredible and were so hydrating that I didn't even have to put body lotion on when I got out of the shower. My husband loves these, too. I told him to try one and then a few days later, he said 'where are those little soap balls', ha!!

Mini Canvas Tote// I love this little canvas tote. It's inexpensive and as cute as can be! I think you could also use it in place of a basket and fill it with something like olive oil and balsamic, hand soap and lotion, a bottle of gin and olives, etc.
Gift Guide 2024: Host and Hostess Gifts

Wine Bottle Gift Bags// I always have cute wine bottle bags on hand. Just yesterday, I dropped a bottle of champagne on our neighbor's doorstep since it is their wedding week! These gift bags are SO cute.

Santa Mug// I think a mug and a Starbucks gift card is always appreciated. I love a holiday mug. You could also do a few packets of hot chocolate or tea!

Jam// This is my favorite jam. It's tangy and sweet all at once. I think this would be cute paired with a loaf of sourdough!

Caviar Service// I got this little caviar server for my sister for her birthday last year and she loves it. It's beautiful and practical and is a good gift for someone who has everything where you need to think outside the box a little!

Under Eye Patches// I give these as a gift SO often. I have many boxes on hand at all times because they are my favorite under eye patches. They truly reduce my under eye lines and bags and are inexpensive.

Spice Set// Spicewalla is one of my favorite spice brands. There are many spices to choose from whether the host/hostess enjoys grilling, making Italian food, etc.

Gift Guide 2024: Host and Hostess Gifts

Silver Julep Cup// A julep cup is the perfect gift for someone who loves a good mint julep or horse racing. You can make a little arrangement of flowers to add in the cup and it makes an adorable gift. I like to give flowers that are pre-arranged and in a vase so that when you hand them off to the host/hostess, they don't have to fuss with them.

Christmas Tree Hand Towels// Weezie just sent me a set of these and they are just stunning. They give me so much nostalgia with the embroidered tree design. The perfect gift to give to someone hosting you for a few days as they are a bit pricey.

Holiday Candle// This candle is incredible.  It's as good, if not better than the Nest holiday candle and costs much less. My code SYDNEY20 may work on this! A candle seems like such an 'uncreative' choice, but to this day, I still love receiving a candle!

Candle Snuffer// This is a fancy snuffer as it is from Dior. Typically I don't care about a name brand and would just get a random snuffer on Amazon, but I think half the time, a gift is all about presentation and frivolity and Dior wraps their things so beautifully. It would feel so fancy and luxurious to receive such a simple snuffer and it's under $40. I always think Tiffany and Co. glassware is another one of those gifts that seem 'wow' since they come wrapped beautifully in Tiffany's signature blue box but are much more affordable than most of the other items that they sell.

Wine Chiller// I have given this as a gift several times. You freeze the 'stick' that looks like an icicle and then stick it into the bottle of wine to keep it chilled as you drink it. The top comes off so it also acts as an aerator. It's a fun little something for the white wine lover!

Diffuser// This is the same brand as the hand soap I mentioned earlier. It's in the most beautiful, heavy container and smells incredible. I have one in our powder bathroom and the way it fills the small space but without being overpowering is really something. It also doesn't evaporate quickly like some other diffusers do. I've had mine for a month or two now and it's barely made a dent.

Truffle Mustard// Another food gift for the condiment lover... aka me. I love fancy dips and sauces and this one is just delicious!

Inflatable Shotski// This is for those FUN parties or when you want to get the party started upon your arrival. This is so cute for someone who may have a home in the mountains!

Wicker Ornaments// This set of ornaments are too cute and the kind of thing I like to keep on hand as I like to tie ornaments onto gifts or on bottles of wine!

Initial Charm// Bag charms are very 'in' right now. They have basically rebranded the key chain into 2024. I'm not big on the bag charm thing but I think this would be a huge hit with the younger generations- for example, the 25 year old who just got their first apartment and is hosting a little get together!
